1. I'd say that we wouldn't want a ZX2 cluttering up our Celica calendar. I think most of you would agree. smile.gif

I'm not sure on the second question though. I never actually print any of my photos.

the zx2 is in the background, and not riced out or anything, its pritty nice, i think its kinda cool to round off the pics and have a few other cars in somewhere to even it out. (just my opinion)

I'd still say you wouldn't want it in the calendar anyway, because of the people in the background. wink.gif

Photoshop everything out that you don't want. This ain't the New York Times (and if it was you could still do it tongue.gif )

On a similar note, anyone want stylishly photoshopped work on a calendar? (And I don't mean adding the crosshatch filter or a gradient background).

Most photo stores print 4x6 photos at 300 dpi. They're uncompressed though. For a calendar... (what are the dimensions???) I'd recommend 4x6 at 600 dpi saved and sent as a TIFF (LZW I think is lossless compression).

Another car of another make WILL make it so your picture isn't included smile.gif I know it isn't riced out, i know it's tastefully done- but this is a celica calendar. NO FORDS ALLOWED. lol smile.gif

As for minimum resolution and what I want- idealy I want the LARGEST you can give me. Straight out of the camera. If you have a 4 megapixel camera; I BETTER get a 4 Megapixel image- not a scaled down and compressed 1 MB image (or lower)

The lower quality images you send me, the less chance it has of being in the calendar- the less good it will look if it makes it in the calendar.

As far as photoshop work- please send me UNphotoshopped images. I'll be color correcting them and touching them up as much as possible- as well as adding real names model and year number and month somewhere on it.

As for stylish photoshop (like, if you have a red car- making the image black and white except for the red) probably not- because it won't match the rest of the calendar.

The lowest one I really want to have in there is 1725x1350 - thats only 150 dpi (images are printed at 11.5x9- its not the largest- but thats our smallest print option right now).. Idealy we'd have 3450x2700 or larger for each image.

Bottom line? if it's 1024*768 its too small.

DO NOT SCALE YOUR IMAGE SIZE UP TO MAKE IT HAVE MORE PIXELS tongue.gif

No faith in the talents of others?

Now I know why.

11.5 x 9 eh? I suppose you want to do the cropping yourself too, huh?

Woot thanks Coom!!

Mr Dude, it's not that I have no faith in your skills, it's just that I can't trust everyone's skills. What if you turn in a picture that looks great- but someone else photoshops their AWESOME picture into what looks like crap?

Or paints their calipers in photoshop? or any NUMBER of things.

I need the originals so this calendar- our calendar- has the best quality.

I've worked in print shops off and on for years- I should be able to color correct and prep for printing 13 images fine.

(and yes, I will do the cropping myself...)

There will be a public runoff of the top contendors (more than 12) after the submission deadline- pretty much one from every person who submitted will be in the runoff- and THEN people will get to vote on if your car is good enough- and remember, it's not if your car is good enough, if it's the picture is good enough.

So.. submit them anyway smile.gif Please?! smile.gif

He probably didn't like it at first because it was somewhat "advertising" for this forum, but he did specifically say not to respond to that guy and you did, so then he had an excuse to lock it so what are you gonna do.

Ask him to unlock it? I was addressing an ontop issue, and he called it offtopic- it ain't; and I wasn't bickering.
