I do break a bit early and hard but never skid, i use to break real bad right after i was rear ended in my civic, i was still really jumpy and scared about it, but thats worn off.

Side note: there is a great comertial about this, its the one with the people going out on a date or something, when the lady driveing freaks out because some other lady almost hit her, then they guy says "women drivers" shaking his head with a condecending tone ending the date. Its so funny.

Girls lack advanced motor functions, so things like tapping and easing on the break aren't possible only leaving one option, the "mashing of the break".

Other things you'll notice driving with a female:

-Take corners way to fast and wide, or to slow and sharp or any mixture of these.

-total disregard for all traffic and pedestrians.

-DO NOT look behind them when backing up or do it very half assed.

-neglect maintenence till they are stranded in the middle of no where with a busted ass engine.

-the above mentioned panic caused by just about ANYTHING

-prolonged absense of eyes on the road, fidling with the radio, makeup and so on.

anyone else have some??

YES Im sexist!! haha actually my mom is a good driver, so I cant say that all women drivers suck.

ok ill let yall in on what happend about a week ago.

On the way to see Alexander (IT SUCKED ASS AND WASTED 3 HOURS OF MY LIFE) I mentioned how i hate driving on I-95 its always women who cause the accidents and how bad of drivers they are, cause its the truth. Women freak out about the littlest things then swerve and hit somebody or mash the brake pedal and cause an accident when its unneeded. Anyway we park the car and walk maybe 10 feet when we hear a car on car crunching sound. I look to my right and what do i see, a girl hit a parked car. HONESTLY how bad do you have to suck at life to hit a parked car!!! rolleyes.gif

if you do it right, its no more work on your clutch than an upshift

ever hear of rev matching?

so far i have driven 9k miles, nearly all of them city miles, in my WRX. i down shift everytime i approach a red light or traffic. still grips the same as day one

hell i would venture to say i downshift nearly as much as i upshift

downshifting is a major part of properly driving a manual transmission vehicle.

it helps slow down the car, it helps control the speed of a car when going down hill, and it helps to cool down the car, since the water pump is turning a lot more than at idle, but the engine isnt making nearly as much heat.

also, the cost of pads and rotors can really add up, especially if you have something like an STI, where a complete brake job is over $1k in parts alone
