I know most people don't know about the mitsubishi FTO since it was never introduced or available to the US market but has anyone imported one yet? I havent seen any on websites or anywhere about FTO's in america. Does anyone here know anyone in america which has one of the sexiest cars ever created??

Doubt they were imported for the same reasons as the GT-4, & you'd be surprised how many people know of the FTO. ;D

lol it won car of the year in japan in 1996 and 1997 i think. The one next door is a 1996 model i think. 2litre V6 with mivec... 200hp. The power to weight ratio is amazing. They almost fly because they are so light.

GOD they are fun!!! my neighbour takes me out every so often and boy are they quick and they just look fast. We got 3 on the island but its funny when the needle is pinned at 200km and a skyline GT-R still overtakes you with ease... Now getting a ride in a skyline GT-R is fun... It snaps your neck and gives u whiplash on every gear lol.

You know what's even more necksnapping fun then a GTR? A LS1 powered RX-7. 350hp in about 2,600. The power to weight ratio is actually slightly better then a viper's.

NASA/SCCA RX-7....currently under the knife
92 Civic hatch B16 - Sold
10th anniv RX-7 - RIP
The Slow Celica - Sold...and then crushed crushed due to street racing.

ehh just call it the JDM eclipse, haha... they are seriously nice cars though, and i've always loved their look. I read somewhere that they only made about 14,000 TOTAL from 94-2000...

Umm saleeka i dont think this is very true, as far as i know they have made heaps, i mean like serious amount coz they r a privatly imported car in australia, but they r as popular as a localy made car - and they only cost like 7gs US so there has to be a large number in japan for there to be such a supply in australia.

But i could be wrong, maybe we just have the majority of the 14 000 lol

yeah I was off by a bit, thats what i get for going by memory lol... the KNOWN production total is 16,438 from 95-2000, 94 is unknown (id say a safe guess would be about 14,000 for 94, making the total more around 30,000). here's the good FTO site with the info-

mitsubishi-fto.org

Look great from the front. Never been convinced by the rear.

Tiptronic option knocks 2 seconds off the 0-60 time. Don't do it.

2 litre V6 kicks out 200bhp and revs like a bike. (well, almost).

Full. Throttle. Orgy.
