Just over a week ago I noticed that the celica starts to shake alot when im going fast and i push on the gas pedal... the whole car just shakes violently... It's fine when im just coasting but when i push down the gas it starts to shake really bad. It started out doing it when i was going about 60mph, but today it started doing it at like 40... whats wrong? confused.gif

uhmmm i know in a rear wheel drive vehicle that that problem would be the u joints but in the celi i'm not sure on that one. it's not the tires off balance cuz it would shake when you take the foor off the pedal.... does it do it in any other gear at high rpm?

it does it starting at about 40mph so i guess that would be 3rd gear and 4th gear.. its an automatic

its always shaken a little bit but just recently its gotten really bad frown.gif

yeah i agree...most of the time if the engine runs good but the car shakes, then its the motor mounts.

If the engine shakes violently under load its most likely the Engine mounts. Tranny could have something to do with it but very unlikely.

and balanced

vibration at speed is almost always due to the tires being out of balance

might check your axles. When mine went out they were fine coasting but under load you could really feel it. Wasn't bad at first but after awhile they got a lot worse and it was definetly time to change them. just a thought

its either the mounts for axles...if the tire is out of balance, it would still shake when its coasting. my bet is the axles personally....just replaced mine a month ago.

Yup if your car steers in a given direction other than straight when u let go of the wheel then u need alignment. if it shakes than u need balance. If its not either check your mounts.
