Due to the success of the hatch GB and some requests, i had asked ViS about a Trunk lid for you coupe owners.

Basically i want to know how many of you are interested AND can afford a $200 down payment in about 1-3months...

i'm going to copy and paste what i wrote from the other page so that you get an idea of what ViS can offer...

ViS Racing
-They will do $400 for 15 hatches
-This Price Does NOT Include Shipping
-This is a fiberglass mold w/ CF overlay
--90% of all hoods/hatches are made this way, as fiberglass's density is slightly greater than Carbon fiber's
-The OEM glass will transfer into the new hatch
-Production will take 3-4Months after payments are received
-1 Layer of CF
-2 Layers of Clearcoat
-Will be made completely Shaved (ie. no wiper or 3rd brake light) this can be done how you guys agree you want it
-shipping
--Short Distance - ~$95
--US
---1: 135-155 = per person
---2: 190-210 = 95-105 per person
---3: 240-260 = 80-90 per person
---4: 280-315 = 70-79 per person
---5: 340-375 = 68-75 per person
---6: 402-450 = 67-75 per person
--US Business - $125
--UK
---1: 350-400 = per person
---5: 1160 to Barry = 232 per person
sorry, he did not give me in between quotes, but using math it comes to be right around $200 per hatch after combining.
--Italy - ~$500*
Prices here will See the same drop as UK, if you know the # of people and have an address, let me know and i will get back to you
--Germany - $450-500*
Prices here will See the same drop as UK, if you know the # of people and have an address, let me know and i will get back to you

-All Prices are in USD

The Bad:
-There is a slight chance the hood can rattle due to a added bump in the clearcoat or lay, but it can be fixed if there is one.
-To have anything shaved, there's a slight chance of a dip /bump there(same as if you patched holes, only their a big co.) I think this is a statement just to cover their ass.
-The plastic inserts will not slide right into the hatch as is, if you want to keep these you will have to drill holes for the clips.
-In order to install a spoiler the following precautions must be taken:
--All you have to go to the underside of the hatch and fiberglass a metal piece onto the mold where the posts will drill in. This will reinforce the area.

Address:
ViS Racing
18856 E. San Jose Ave.
City of Industry, CA 91748

Needed:
Money Order
Letter explaining what it is for, and if you are combining with anyone else and also any other items you may be including with it.

-Must be Paid Via-Money Order.

I'll have to ask ViS again, but i believe you guys can save $25-75 depending on how many you have, as the trunk lid takes near as much work, but less material, thus less chance for error tongue.gif

I'll Start the list off:

I'm completely down for a carbon fiber trunk lid and will have no problems with the funding.

remember, this is just an interest thread...if we have an interest near 20, or 10 definates...this will work...though im sure ViS wants 15 definates.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Lighter? It's isn't like a real cf trunk, it's just fiberglass with an overlay, right?

It still should be lighter.; it's not as light as pure CF; but I've run into fiberglass with CF a lot- seems pretty common for CF bodyparts.
