CF and Paint Options

If I paint a CF hood to match my car will they CF weave or texture show up throught the paint? Because black cf won't look good on my car so I want it to match the rest of my car.

no it won't hence the effect of paint

but the only way you will be able to show it off is to pop the hood.....

nah the weave is covered with a coat of clear just like gel-coat. you should be fine

This is what I am asking. If once it is painted, will the carbon fiber texture show through the paint(which I don't want) I want it to look like a normal hood, just with the aggressive c-one look.

It wont with the right amount of paint - it'll also weigh more. Secondly, I've seen CF hoods painted *lightly* because they wants the weave to show thru.

Before your worry yourself over painting it, why don't you just put it on there to see how it looks? I've never been a real fan of the cf hood look, but I've never disliked it either. I'd own one and leave it unpainted, but I wouldn't pay to much for it. And heck, it's carbonfiber man, show it off.

to answer your question no the weave will not show through if painted properly. and the clear coat will have to be sanded down inorder to paint it

Ive seen this also. A little bit of the paint color over the hood makes it look CF from one POV and then painted from another.
