So today me and a bud we arguing back and forth over which car is a better overall package... i said the 4th gen prelude (92-96) because of the SI's 2.3 and its broad powerband, the 4WS model and its super sharp handling characteristics (sp), and of course the VETEC model and its hyper-output... My friend, on the other hand, insisted that the weight saved from the integra (94-01) would out-perform the prelude anyday and that there also was vetec in the GSR's, to in wich i said the prelude had WAY more torque... with aftermarket for these cars though, im unsure how the tide will fall. Next to the Type R integra, i think the Prelude still is superior, and since the type R is super rare its really not a true comparison... GSR VS VETEC I think the Prelude is nicer... and LS VS SI prelude hands down... so what do you all think?

4th gen preludes are sex man. Its one of my top choices for a next car. It goes 7th gen gts > mr2t > 4th gen prelude si or vtec.
Im not really sure about the better performer but I like the prelude better out of the 2 because integras are sooooo common and the lude just looks so much sexier. Tim This post has been edited by Uppitycracker: Jan 19, 2005 - 3:08 AM |

Integra all the way. The ludes are simply too heavy (~3000 pounds). The H22 ludes are fast, but anything other than that, they're only OK. GSR and GS/LS Integras are relatively quick compared to the ludes both the H22A Vtec models and the H23 non-Vtec (not even gonna mention the F22 models). As for 4WS... it more than anything adds weight and causes problems. Overall, I personally feel, from a performance veiw, the Integra has a much better package. Don't do the torque argument either... cause that's not gonna fly too far... ;] THe Prelude would win if it had a better chassis and was lighter... but the Integra would win stock vs stock and mildly modded vs mildly modded. THe H22A is a better street engine than the B18C1... but the B18C1 can make a better track and racing engine.

I'd take the Integra for sure. Like Kwanza said, the Prelude is just too heavy.

I don't mean to hijack, but..
What would you guys go for a 3rd gen integra GSR or a 2nd gen eclispe GSX? The eclipse is AWD and has some more power, but I think a GSR would take it with the weight difference, and reliability |

The 2nd gens can't hang with the Tegs on the track either. That, and the Tegs have far superior suspension set-up and powertrain/drivetrain for racing purposes. -------------------- "It's ok to be naked girl... I'm an artist!"
