I have an Optima Red Top Battery. I've had it for like 6 months and have never had a problem with it...
But a couple days ago, my car wouldn't start, and I popped the hood and the battery was literally hanging off the platform is rests on! So, I slid it back on top and reconnected the wires and started the car. But then everday, the same thing would happen! Tonight I disconnected the battery and removed the plastic 'tray' that the battery sits on and torqued the tiedown as hard as I could. It slides a little, but not near as much as it did. And for temporary purposes, I took a shoelace and tied it around the battery to the radiator support beam until I have time to really try to figure out whats causing it to slide so bad. Any ideas to help prevent this? -------------------- ![]() |
