I'm trying to figure out if it's worth the trouble for me to install the Burien kit. I'm sure it would pass in Colorado, but I'm moving back to Cali (thank God) in the next year. Here is why I ask: about 4 months ago, I had to replace the air hose that runs from my stock filter box to my engine. When I ordered it, I had the foresight to get the CA version (since that's where the car is from). The only thing I noticed is that it has this little box hanging off the bottom of it. No wire going to it or anything, and I really don't know what it does, but since it's unique to the CA version, it must have something to do with smog, right? So, if that part gets yanked when I install the turbo charger, am I going to flunk my smog in Cali? Please don't tell me to bribe anyone, since I don't have the time to try that... I guess another way to ask this is if anyone has done a custom air intake in Cali, and had it pass smog inspection since that would also involve removing that air hose. Thanks guys!
