Hey guys, may be a dumb question, but don't flame me for it. I am looking to buy kyb gr2 struts ( are they also known as shock absorbers? If not, tell me what's the difference) in tirerack.com. In the website they are selling front fitment cartridge inserts, rear left and right strut housings, strut boots, and strut and shock mounts. Is it necessary to buy all of these? and why don't they list front left and right strut housings( is there even a such things? Or do I have to change the cartridges only in the front?) Is there anywhere where I could just buy these as a whole so that I could just swap them into my car? Sorry for all the questions but I really need to be enlightened. Thanks for your time guys! biggrin.gif

We have Struts front and back on our celis... not just shock ...

they kyb's are just inerts for the front .. thays why they are so good and cheap at the same time... just take the stock inserts out and put the new ones in....

no u don't really need new boots and tops.... but they are always good to have... cuts out some unwanted noise if u have them.. well the tops.. the boots.... thehy just protect the intert shaft from getting hit with rocks and stuff

the inserts don't need to be left i an right like the back .. cause they are just inserts... one fits both sides..

and yea u can get the whole assmble for the front..... but not from kyb.. toyota .. monre .. and another company has them... do a search someposted where they got them off ebay for a few houndered..

No, you should buy 2 inserts and rear left/right strut housings. You should be able to check the condition of the boots without too much trouble to see if you need to replace those. Imo, if the boots are cheap, go ahead and replace them.

Oh, just to make sure, the rear right/left strut housings already come with inserts right? Or do they not need them...

The rear struts are complete, you won't need to purchase additional inserts for them.
