Alright - I have been looking at pictures of liftbacks - well one and its hard to see the back - and normal GT hatchbacks - What is the differences of the looks between the
two?? I know this is a stupid question but i cannot find it..
What are the visual differences between the GT hatchback and the Liftback - in other words do they look the same or not? does anyone have any good pictures of a liftback? i havent been able to find one!!
thanks for your guy's time

Hatchback rear comes straight down. Similar to the new Civic Si, and like the CRX and the VW GTI and Rabbit. Liftbacks have a lil more body near the end like the Celicas and the Integras and RSX's.

For the 6gc, the hatchback is equivalent to a liftback (the terminology is interchangable) but it differs to the coupe.

Hatchback/Liftback: http://www.6gc.net/photo.php?file=/images/...otos/300_44.jpg

Coupe: http://www.6gc.net/photo.php?file=/images/..._photos/1_4.jpg

(Hope you don't mind doGGy and Coomer, both your cars rock!)

The GT liftback is the same as the ST Liftback (as in rear shape), in case you were wondering.

they arent the same. look at the CRX, GTI, Golf, rear and look at the rear of an RSX and our Celicas. They're different. Not by much.

I swear that EVERYTHING i say on here gets ignored.

Perhaps its because that on the 6gc, hatchback and liftback mean the same thing. There are NOT two different models for our cars. I understand that you didn't say there was. However, the original question assumed that there was and was asking what the difference was on OUR CARS. Thats why we don't need to argue about what a "liftback" and "hatchback" is in general in this thread. It suffices just to say "they are the same thing". If someone says they have a 6gc liftback, we should all know what he means.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

Hatch back

lift back....

what is the difference? there is a test... put your knee on the back bumper and open the trunk.. If you have to move out of the way for the lid to fully open then it is a hatchback..

coupes are not lift backs nor hatch backs..

Except on a 6th generation celica or any other car that only offers one of the two options...
