if you saving with photoshop, use Save Fr WEB function, this will get your JPG file at about 10-15k......
The sign of 350x120 *.jpg saved with save for web funktion at 60% quality is about 12k..... QUOTE(Supersprynt @ Mar 8, 2005 - 11:59 PM) I gotta ask, can the minimum be raised to like 22kb? I cant get any of mine below 22.
Size is what 350x120? How can you have a 400x125 and only 20K? I went to jpg and had 22k and then bmp went to 107. [right][snapback]254977[/snapback][/right] This post has been edited by doGGy: Mar 9, 2005 - 2:12 AM -------------------- Ex celica owner - just a guy from other side of the pond...

.png triples the KB. Whats aggravating is that I'm using photobucket to host it, and its a matter of 2kbs, and its smaller than all the other images.

I used Fireworks for optimizing my JPEG images. The quality ranges from 0-100, 100 being the best. My sig is 86 I believe. I know ACDSee also allows you to change the quality of JPEG images when resizing and such.
Supersprynt, I can make your sig under 20kb if you want. Just give me a link and I'll help you out. -------------------- New Toyota project coming soon...

Cooommmmm.... what the... most of the people here didn't have any problems with the signatures... But I can live with a size restriction. BUT I WISH YOU WOULD HAVE WARNED US. I didn'y have mine saved to my computer, only uploaded on http://www.imageshack.us/
If you can give me back my old signature so I can resize it or atleast give me the old location, that would be swell... |

Was that idea X'd now that we get to have pics in our sigs again??? -------------------- ![]() |

ok, I don't know if you solved this yet coomer. It seems like you could add some preset size into the image tag on the insert sig page, right? Then, no matter what they put in, it would be small. I dunno about the file size though. It might still be a big file, just make the images smaller. Not sure what your using to code this site, but its just a thought I had.

also, whats the final word on this? Maybe you could add some text onto the sig page that gives the dimension and file size. Maybe you did, and I'm just blind.

It works far better than just inserting size attributes into the <img> tag(Though it does this too.) QUOTE(Tweek @ Mar 11, 2005 - 10:45 PM) also, whats the final word on this? Glad u kept the image sigs. For the most part, people scrolls the web document down with their eyes set around your image sig area, to identify the person, instead of the little avatar icon below the name. I NEVER read the right column. I read the img sig. when I see yellow celica, it's coomer, when i see a red celica with the TRD logo, it's Drocay, etc. They add characteristic to the forum. Forums are text based already. People ask text questions, reply in text answers. Site is already made with the minimum images possible to provide faster speed, if we take out our sigs, I'd rather just call this website the 6th gen celica dictionary.
