sometimes when i turn my car on and leave it to warm up a little i hear a little "creeking" sound that seems to churn over and over until i actually press the throttle a little.
it almost sounds like the belt turning and turning, only the sound it makes is more like a squeeky door? it doesnt matter if its cold or hot outside it still does it. anybody had this problem before? or know what it is? |

Can you determine where the noise is coming from on the engine? I know that this sounds a little obscure. On my old 90 GTS, it had a 5SFE, and the waterpump went-out on it. But before it went-out, it was making a noise like the one you described.
I was told by a Toyota mechanic , that this is one of the tell-tale signs that your waterpump is about to go out. You usally have around a hundred miles before it craps-out. When the bearings start to wear-out around the lever, it'll start to make the noise. One of the benefits of having a mechanical than an electrical one I guess. ![]() This post has been edited by cmorty: Mar 30, 2005 - 4:11 PM |
