has anyone tried a setup with an ipod mini (or i guess ipod) that it is fabricated into the car so that you can just like click it in like a face plate on a head unit? that would be a sweet setup. I guess recharge would be a problem.

alpine has the thingy where it recharges your ipod, and you can play the ipod through the stereo and control songs with the headunit but you need an alpine headunit.

i have something like this with my dell, its not as neat as your thinking, but its all conceled in my center console, and uses a radio transmitter for what ever radio station i set it at. its all powered from my car, so i never have to worry about batteries. it works pretty good. The transmitter is from walmart, you can get them almost anywhere. i recommend the one with the power plug, as you can use it like the one without when you want to. (it was like $30 or something, maybe less). I havent used an Ipod, but I love my dell dj. its simple to use, and works great for what i want it to.
