Hey guys

I'm new to the forum but have had my car for over 6 years. I ave a 95 celica GT and want to install wide wheels at the back. I know it makes no sense to do this but I want that RWD look. I want to put 18x7 or x8 on the front and 18x9 on the rear the wheels are +37 offset.

Thanks alot

why? it might just end up being a headache later on when u want to rotate the tires and such... i say just got with (if ur goin for 18's) to just go with 18x7 on all 4.

the 1/4 doesnt have patience for a ST.... so we make them ST-T's so atleast we'll sound good going slow.

I have 19x8.5 on the back with a 35mm offset. Its very nice! However, I'll warn you that you will have to cut the lip on the rear quarter panel and re-weld from behind. Which means painting. Otherwise the lip hits the tire. Just a headsup. However, when its done and you've got 245 size tires on the back - its mint. Baby-Supra for real.

Hi there,

I had 18 x 7.5 alt x-files on my old 6th gen with ground control coilovers. I had no rubbing whatsoever and wouldve liked to go wider. One option you have is to use wheel spacers. You could always just run wider spacers in the rear to push the wheels out. That way you could still rotate all four wheels/tires. Just a thought.

turboinduction, you got pics of this setup?

17x7s or 18x7s look really bad on our cars, the wheels end up looking pushed in. 8in wide seems to be a perfect fit for our cars

It's not so much a width issue but the offset that makes the wheels look pushed in. Get wheels with an offset closer to zero and it'll remove that "pushed in" look. wink.gif

but, with offset alone, you can only push them out so far...the 8in wide and a low offset is the only way to make it look perfect.

My 8.5 width and 35 offset make for a sweet looking, but forced to modify car. Its all in taste. My backs are super wide (245 tires) and are completely flush with the flared part of the fender. Nice, but wait til you gotta cut that lip off. I personally think that 225's on a 7.5 with a 38 or 35 offset would be ideal. It'll look just fine without fender cutting and without looking like donuts underneath our wide cars.
