iv beat... 2000 celica GT (5-speed), most all stocker civics with cans on them, Another 1995 celica GT, cavaler, a Sentra, thats about it. Nothing too impressive at all.

'94 celica GT 2.2L manual (mine) vs. 2001 VW Jetta 1.8T (friend)
Off the light i was winning in first, shifted into second and he was done  

Only performance mod i have on right now is an AEM c.a.i. and a sawed-off short custom short shifter 

once again, it is a VW, so not very impressive, but hey its a start (plus it feels good to beat a turbo!)

i remember i raced one. i was at a red light and this ungly tan coloured one pulled up and some cocky asian guy wanted to race. i was like, this is gonna be easy(thinking it was a 2 liter non turbo) well i pulled on him pretty quick through first, and about half way through second i heard the turbo spooling loud. the only word that went through my head was "f u c k". he pulled quite hard on me from there. i dont know if it was stock though. ive never heard a vw turbo spool like that.

well the BOV sound is different than the turbo spool.
the BOV only makes noise when you let off the throttle

My stock turbo is very audable from outside. No soundproofing and an induction kit make them *loud*.

With intake the turbo can get pretty loud, its very noticable. I have the stock CT26 with a K&N cone & aluminum intake piping and you can really hear it. My BOV is also very loud, especially underbridges & tunnels

A short story I wasnt going to tell but meh whatever:

The other day a buddy of mineand I are cruising in the Celi heading towards the highway to get home on this road thats 3 lanes wide and my car is in pretty bad cosmetic condition. 1/2 primer, white wing, bondo here and there...its nothing pleasing to the eye. These 2 guys in a 350z pass me (we're doin like 30 at the time) and I get behind them to get onto the on ramp for the highway. Well, for some reason, the passenger does this twirly thing with his finger, kinda like a "woohoo nice rice" kinda thing, obviously mocking me. I personally dont think I have rice but the wing is on the tall side, but thats neither here nor there. This guys got injen intake (stupidy puts the sticker on his car, stickers on a 350z ) and what appeared to be exhaust, I cant really confirm that but it didnt look stock. So we're both getting on the onramp, now everyones had this experience where you know its on as soon as we hit the highway. Sure enough, we're both in 3rd gear, I'm behind him, we hit the highway, he's off; I slide to the left lane, pass him and I hold him by 3 car lengths for shy of a mile before I stop, no need to continue this.

Moral of this story, do not ever mock someone whose car doesnt look like its show worthy because you might just get embarrassed.
