two options at home depot...one is the rain gutter guard stuff and the other is the diamond shaped metal sheet found near the lumber. I used that with metal cutters, sharpie, tape measure, 3 plastic ties, and band-aids (cut myself a few times)!

go back to home depot, get 2 peaces of gutter gard, place one on one side as best a fit as you can and cut it so that it ends right behind one of the vertical bumper bars, then take the second peace and cut it so that it starts right where the other ended (behind a vertical bumper bar) and covers the rest of the gap, then when cutting that peace (on the side that meets the other, cut it at the exact place you cut the other peace's end off (I mean cut it at the same point in the dimond pattern so its a perfect meet with the other one) then get small clear zip ties (2, maybe 3 but no more) and place them at that meeting point (behind the bar one on top one on bottum, and one in the middle if needed. I used 3 i think.

and your done, just put it back in place and use some more zip ties to hold it donw (dont ziptie around a bar it will show.
