visually its stunning, just like episodes 1 and 2, it kinda makes 4-6 look shotty though because they just dont have the stunning effects and incredable choriographed/CG fight scenes that the new ones do. overall it was very good and a fitting end to the best movie series ever... but as an independant film its nothing to overglorify.

can someone PLEASE explain to me why obiewan kanobi is the only one ever to disappear when he dies (episode 4) and no one else does that??

*Possable movie spoilers*
it did a very good job to tie 1-3 to 4-6, but still left gaps, rather big ones...
basically i was expecting just some intergallactic holocostic battle to bridge the new technologically stunning elements to the older more outdated 4-6 series... kinda of like a battle large enough to knock the whole star wars world back a few decades of development but apparently that was not their intent. i was also very disappointed in, for lack of better word, the panzy deaths all the jedi surcum to. i mean, what the hell... **SPOILER** all the jedi killed by freaking stormtroopers.... jesus what a HORRIBLE way to have the greatest and wisest group of warriors in the galaxy die!! we watched 1-2 the last 2 days, then tonight went and saw 3, then came back and watched 4, tomorrow we are watching 5-6... i love 1-3 for the back story because its fun picking out all the forshadowing and i love watching the amazing fight scenes and the alien and ship models are sooooo cool... but its almost disappointing watching 4 after seeing 1-3 because you can tell the era in which the movies are made... there arent nearly the ammount of aliens the new ones have and everything is controlled by PLC pannels and big levers with single objective driven displays while 1-3 has all the cool modernesque displays and controls. but ya, still a great series, but to say that everything lines up is to be nieve.

did anyone else find the millenium falcon hidden in Episode 3?? smile.gif

i saw it
i loved it
i was one of only 10 people watching it in the multi plex !!!!!!

didn't see the falcon....... where ????

i agree with what your saying Boosted K2........ but to be honist you can't help but respect part 4..... it changed the whole way si-fi films are made and without it we would never have the quality of 1,2,3 an 6

as for obi disapering, was that not because he let him self be killed ! thats what i read in OSWFC news letter back in the 80's i think issue 7 (hmmm there's that age thing again: i'll shut up)

totally agree, no respect was lost for the old series, they are definatly classics, the fighting in them just lost its thrill, but the story line is still awesome

great movie

but it could have been better. the story was excelent, the CG was excelent, the guy who plays Anakin is the worst actor ever, and the movie started out with a lot of action, never really built up, just action, action, then more action.

where was the falcon?

as for the jedi deaths, yea, that sucked. it sucked to see them all die, and it sucked that they died so easily, but they were stabbed in the back/taken by surprise.

i had tickets to go see the midnight showing as well, but plans changed and now i am in Australia, so i saw the movie here(which it has been out for like a week)

im gonna see the movie at home too to see if there are any differences between the US version and the international version. i will probably see it 2-3 more times in theaters.

didnt you guys pay attention?

yoda told obiwan that he would recieve training from someone on how to remain immortal, that someone being qui gon

and yoda also dissapears when he "dies"

if you pay attention in Episode 4, obiwan dissapears before vader takes a swing at him.

I havent seen the movie, yet...but I think that part about Qui Gon being resurrected or whatever was just to quiet the talk about "how come nobody else sill comes back from the dead." That part sounds weak, and Vader does it in ROTC.

Oh and they cant link everything up to ANH, that'd be to ridiculous. Lando has the Falcon, you never see Lando so you never see the Falcon.

however you do "see" the falcon wink.gif i dont remember the exact scene, id have to watch it again, it was all kind of a blur, but it was lower middle-right of the screen as they are panning out in one of the wide angle shots.

from my xanga post...

SPOILERS ARE AHEAD...READ AT YOUR OWN RISK

Star Wars. Okay...here we go. Yeah I'm a hardcore fan. Midnight showing, saw lots of people I know...shoutouts to: Josh and Meryl, Corey and Kyle (obviously), Megan, Linnea, Swope, Wilhelm, Kim Gee, Franklin, there was more, a lot more. That kid in my Pysch class...anyway...to the movie. I loved it. I also hated it. I went into it not expecting anything and not setting myself up for disaster ala the last two. No Jar-Jar. Excellent. His two scenes were great. Did anyone notice the Falcon was in it? Oh, the recreation of the Blockade Runner's hall? Awesome. Padme's Leia-style hair? Anakin's Luke-style hair? Vaders scars matching up nearly exactly to the Return of the Jedi. I didn't like Greivous at all. No background on him whatsoever. He's a droid, right I got hat. But he had a beating heart. Not getting that. He even coughed. Okay and he weilded lightsabers, no honestly here folks, Obiwan could have used the Force and annihilated him like cake. But whatever. The saber battles were superb, excellent choreography between Hayden and Ewan. I disliked R2D2's comic relief. As well as the battle droids and their humor. Let's see, I didn't like the Wookie stuff. That didn't even need to be included...its like they just threw Chewie in there for ****s and giggles. Oh, here's a plothole. I have an explanation though. RotJ, Leia clearly states that she REMEMBERS her MOTHER being SAD but beautiful. Right, but, she died during child birth? My only solution here is she is referring to Senator Organa's wife, her adoptive mother. Because as far as we know, Leia is not aware she is adopted until Luke tells her he is her brother. So we are to assume Senator Organa's wife dies when Leia is very young.
Alright. The fall of Anakin and the rise of Vader. Tremendously awesome. Goosebump inducing. Massacre at the temple, the younglings, WELL DONE Hayden. I loved it when he explained stuff to Padme, he was so evil, just like in Episode II when he slaughters the Tuskens and tells her about them. "Not just the men - but the women, and children." Spooky good.
It had its downfalls. Like all of the Star Wars' movies, it was laden with too much CGI (the new ones at least), a few scenes of horrible acting, and definately horrible lines. Especially the sappy love scenes between Padme and Anakin. It was necessary, but damn, that was bad. And I totally realize that the "NOOOOOO!" by Vader/Anakin was MEANT to be lame like that...
Like all Star Wars movies, the sound effects were great. And the music. Gripping stuff. I'll be on the lookout to snag that score soon.
So I liked it I suppose. 7.9/10.
