Hey,
I'm just finishing ordering a bunch of parts for my hood bumber gt-4 conversion. They dealer I'm looking to buy from said the parts would be 1. cheaper and 2. quicker to order if I had a VIN # from a gt-4 (Either japanese, or european, it don't matter). If anyone woulnd't mind me using there VIN # just so the parts were cheaper for me, that would be totally cool. If you don't mind helping me get my car finished, just PM me with the number (probably not wise just posting it in this thread.). Thanks for anyone who can help, and God Bless! i had the same problem with my dealer. i just tell them i dont have one and they can order the stuff anyway. i think it just makes it easy for them to look stuff up with. try to find your own part numbers and just give them that nuber to look up.

Think you`d be better off looking on the GT4oc, look in the sales section for someone who is breaking a GT4, happens all the time, there is always one on the go and the good thing for you is they are all gt4 owners so already have the hoods, nose cones etc so there will be little or no demand for those parts, you should be able to get the hood etc with just the part numbers. try www.cheaptoyotaparts.com. they will soon sort you out.

yeah, i didn't know you needed one in the uk, when i order part over there i just give the chassie number.......
i think the vin is for new car's from 2000 onwards.... over here all US and european cars from 2000 must have one, but as Norway does not have a very big car industry ![]() -------------------- ![]() Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |

Oh well you live and learn, My JDM came with a VIN plate from Japland and my old 1988 Peugeot has one too. At least I thought it did????????? I was always under the assumption that the VIN plate was the little silver metal plate that is pop riveted to the bulkhead that has the paint code, chassis number, model type, engine code etc stamped onto it. or have I been talking out my arse again?????

Yeah, thats just the info plate- VINs in USDM cars are all over the friggin place, from the engine to the door sills to.. etc etc. Helps identify stolen cars. I know for a fact no JDM cars ever have them- if yours came with one when you imported it than it was added by customs. As for Euro and + 2000 NEW cars.. still no idea |

No your not talking out your arse mate !
but the VIN number is another number, in addition to the chassie numbers and all the stuff on the metal bulk head plate...... on LHD Celicas that have been imported from europe, i've seen a second plate on the bulk head with a 'VIN' number stamped on it !!!!! as rar as i'm consirned the number ST205-00000000 is what toyota want for parts !!!!!!!!!!!! -------------------- ![]() Life is for living, and you don't get a second chance Take care now !! |
