hmm... well basically I have to go to Jiffy lub and top off my oil every now and then. The oil light comes on after 1500 miles or so. I think it is just burning oil since there is no visible leakage. Anybody having the same problem? I use a high grade synthetic.

if your car burn oil, then your exhaust will have a blue-ish color to it.

Yep...I burn oil like theres no tomorrow....I hate it. I use 10W-40. Has anyone tried those concoctions that you add to your oil that is supposed to stop oil consumption? what are your reactions to it?

94 ST with 125,000 miles. Burns less than 1 quart per 3000 miles. Used 1 can of engine restorer twice and seemed to help.

Man u've to look at the reality....IF you're lucky (but once seen the amount of oil consuption I don't think u are
Anyway at 99% your rings are finally gone after all those miles and it's time to replace them. In a high milleage engine I think it won't be possible to replace just rings cuz of the cylinders ovalization, but the machine shop will value that. If not possible you need to get cylinders bored to at least 82mm (stock is 81mm) and replace pistons with oversized set with rings.... Anyway since the engine will be opened u can always make some "works" Good luck |

My 94 ST with 167k uses alot of oil. No smoke or leakage. Piston rings are shot i guess. Oil is cheap! 94cents for a qrt of Supertech from walmart. I just keep extra oil and add whenever i need it

you will have more loss with synthetic for it will slip past the rings and seals much easier.
