So i followed NIK's How-to on the 7afte. Got everything all hooked up and took it for a spin. I was makin about 6.8psi and it was fast. Until i got to about 4000 RPS, at which point it felt like it was bogging down. Oh, and there was a lot of smoke. Does anyone know what could be wrong?? I have sat here for hours thinking on it. If you have ANY input at all, please, input it.

oops your right
ok so oil pull off the IC pipes and see if oil is in there if so a seal in the turbo is gone if not check for blow by you might be pushing oil past the valves and what oil are you using? QUOTE(Hanyo @ May 31, 2005 - 3:14 PM) what is the size of your feed and return lines on your turbo? right if you have to much pressure you'll force oil pass the seal also and if your oil drain line is too small it wont drain right -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

I was thinking the same. oil drain. also, where did you place the return line on the oil pan? you might try putting a breather filter on your valve cover vent instead of having it run into the intake. That added pressure on the valves might force oil past the valve seals.

i just sent coomer a bunch of pics for more detail in the 7afte there just plain check valves for the map i think you might be getting blow by pushing oil from the valve cover in the intake manifold i have a little oil breather bottle that might help you if its that the problem you hook it into the line between the intake manifold and valve cover can you post up some pics -------------------- yea your 3sgte is cool but ill stick to my 7agte

I fixed the bogging when boost came on, the check valve was backwards..oops, the MAP sensor was not damaged...Unfortunately the somking problem has been solved (hopefuly only temporarily). I need to have my car and can't try to fix it, so the turbo is off the car. However I know what i need to do to fix it. The turbo is blown and needs to be rebuilt/replaced. After driving it for a while, oil finally worked its way into the intercooler pipes. You can't imagine the disappointment I felt when I saw that. Also, as I was looking at the set-up, the oil drain line MIGHT come out to high. It comes out the side of the turbo (below the oil feed line) but I think ewhen I put it back in i might as well fix that whether it is or isn't a problem....Thanks Nik and others for your prompt help....I love 6GC.net!!!
