street racing is just more fun, im not gonna drive 30 miles away and pay to drive on a road when I can do it for free.

That sentence speaks volumes about your obvious immaturity rolleyes.gif I guess having a crash and killing some poor innocent pereson when you lose control on a public road is more fun too is it?

I am all for street racing, but I have to agree with bulldog keep it on an industrial road I don't feel like going around a curve and have someone end up in my lane. I can't say that I have not taken curves very fast, but I also do not push my car that hard around them, ususally 100 tops but I have a video to prove I know what i'm doing and I never try to push the limit of a curve. For bloodrain I agree street racing is more fun, but 30 miles isn't very far away, unless it's like Charlotte where 30 miles is an hour and a half drive.
I wasn't going to do this, but for the people that automatically think that if you street race your going to kill someone, if that was the case the human race would be extinct since there are more street races in this country per sat. night (I went to two last weekend) than all motorsports events put together have in one year combined, if you want to bash street racers, then you need to bash smokers, truckers, any one who drives a car older than 1996, see on the exception of truckers (who cause more than 5,000 deaths in 1999, as compared to street racings 130 in 1999) all of these are perfectly legal but will kill people sooner or later, the trucking industry is my best comparisson to street racing since one is legal and the other is illegal, yet one causes much more deaths than the other yet is socially acceptible becuase it serves a small purpose for most people, street racing serves a small purpose for a small group, if the majority street raced it wouldn't be complained about. Like my comment earlier i'm not going to argue it, but I have researched the NHTSA files and it would suprise you that street racing isn't that dangerous, and that in almost all cases they were young (17-19) guys on the highway playing, not a group of people on an industrial road, who actually organized it.

I have to find it, it's on this forum somewhere, I was proving my 50 to 100 time was as quick as a 7th gen GT-S, I was 2 seconds slower but was in 5th the entire time since I was the one filming.

Here it is, you have to overlook my crappy filming, I did it with a digital camera so I couldn't exactly see what I was shooting since I was concentrating on the road, once I get a person to shoot for me, i'll put up a better one.

@ Night when theres nobody on the highway i will floor it. But normally i usually drive about 10-15 miles faster then speed limit. But only in the areas where i am familiar.
When going to a strange town/city i will keep driving the speed limit. And on the highway at day when its not so busy about 20 miles faster then allowed.

About racing on the public road. Only when first at traffic light on then to a certain speed. So usually ends within 1/8 mile.

Shouldn't require quicktime once it's downloaded.

Looked at the clip, nice!!!!! To bad here in the Netherlands all roads are fairly straight or have speed bumps in them. And no height difference.

Yeah there are a few nice roads around here, that one is near my house, I won't push it any harder since it's a blind corner and it's a 45 mph limit, there is a 25 mph curve near my house also, but I can see everything coming for a good quarter mile.

I personally only race just off the line, til about 45mph and then i drop back and let the fool shoot ahead. I just like the ability to take off from the line quicker, I really don't need the speed component to feel like i'm racing. My favorite place to race is the freeway on-ramp....where there are two lanes and the metter is on. I love the 0-70 feeling.... so i guess that makes me an acceleration junkie, not a speed junkie.

However, speed doesn't kill people, stupid people kill people, just like darksecret argued.

Yeah, I totally agree. If you want to race for top speed, do it on a track. But most street racing is just to test acceleration. Which means I don't normally get above 60mph. Someone's welcome to tell me how that's any more dangerous than just accelerating normal. rolleyes.gif

The only time that's a bad idea is like when my dad was driving his Firebird back in collage. He didn't happen to see the cop that pulled up behind him right when he and his friend decided to race from a stop-light at 2 in the morning. The cop was not happy about the dirt and gravel that flew all over his windshield when they peeled out. wink.gif The cop pulled him over immidietally and gave him a ticket. Luckily my dad got a lawyer, and he argued how could my dad be tagged for reckless driveing, when he had only been going 30 in a 35mph zone.biggrin.gif The judge let the price of paying for the lawyer be the fine. wink.gif
