I wanted to post for all of you to see that it's not just ViS bull-ishing people.
There is a shortage of Carbon Fiber due to production of new planes.

Look on the far right column.

Prices are going to go up, so if someone here is real smart, i'd buy all CF CHEAP CHEAP, then sell when prices are high for profits...wont be a HUGE profit, but if you got the time + resources, you can prob make some good money.

Well i guess it's good to know that VIS really is not b-s-ing. Should make all of us Hatch people feel a lot better about the time delay i guess. Thanks for the info Consynx.

I found out today, the high quality CF used for important things is readily available.. for planes and paintball parts, and they said they just got a shipment last week, and one this week..

So, if ViS made real, solid CF parts, rather than overlaid, there might be no problem

true smile.gif
but they don't...they fall apart any under pressure.

Honestly i dont know how much heat one planes to have dissipating out of the hood to where the vent can actually BREAK apart the hood.
the 1-3extra lbs from being overlaid opposed to the 2X price tag i feel is worth it.

if making suspension components(formula one style) or planes, then i can see the need. btw, don't places combine CF w/ something else to make it more resistance to shear?(might be stress)

dude c/f doesn't fall apart under pressure?
wtf are you talking about it has a increditably high tollernace
thats why its used in F1 cars for drive shafts, and planes for wings/bodies, and cars for bodies...and numerous other HIGH pressure pieces

Carbon fiber is carbon fiber the only difference is the type of weave and the epoxy used to bond it.

I think what cold meant is that there are different grades of carbon fiber, kind of like steel, high grade is used for planes, military, and motorsports, low grade is for body panels and wings. All carbon fiber has the same threads but it's the process of making it that is different, it's like saying particle board is the same thing as MDF which is true but it's the epoxy and pressing process that is different.
