don't know if anyone can help me out, but just bought a bunch of neons for the interior, and soon will be buying some for the underbody, the way they come is power via the cigarette lighter. 1-how many can i put into the lighter before i have to worry about blowing another fuse? 2-does anyone know a way i can bypass that, and maybe splice/strip/and fuse a wire to a rocker switch then mount it on the dash? if i do that, which fuse should i tap into? 3-anyone have ideas of where i can install the neons, i have them attached to the sides of the center console, in plain site, i wanna kinda hide them, but feel id lose some of their effect if hidden under the dash or seat, cause they are the kind that bounce to the beat and have strobes on them, thanks in advance for any help you guys got.

1. don't do it
2.cut the lighter adapter off and get your +/- wires. + wire goes to switch, - wire goes to ground. My POWER is off my STOP fuse going to the switch.
I have 1 set of cathode and a underbody kit running of 1 switch.
3. i have 1 set under my dash(one on each side), putting 1 set on my headliner(behind sun visor).
Only reason not to hide the neons is if they do something. i.e.-lightning tubes, color changing tubes.
i had lightning tubes in my quarter windows.
also, watch where u put them. if a cop can see the tube above the door sill, he can give u a ticket.

lol, i know, before i had put them on my visors on the windshield, i was able to pull over a couple of cars, but yea, im not gonna be an a** and keep em there or chance getting pulled over, thanks for the input btw, but the problem i see with splicing the wires is that i have 4 inside neons, one on either side of the middle console, then two slighter bigger ones on top of the sub box in the trunk, then if i decide to add an underbody one, i prolly will have to use another line, i just dont wanna over do one switch/fuse

do what I did and put them under the dash, seat and the underbody and in your door (that little pocket) it looks really nice if done right. As far as the wiring goes I have 2 switchs, 1 interior and 1 exterior (1 for lights outside, 1 for inside) I just made a hole in the firewall and ran it directly from the battery.

I took one off the amp power before.. still runs off the inline fuse.

Then, I changed my mind, and let them go on when the door is open, I tapped into the power on the door light, by the map pocket. Then you can put a 3 way toggle in - on, off, door, just like your dome light..

If youre ambitious, covert/LED the dome, and then do it into the dome switch - entire interior lights up.

If anyone needs interior stuff, etc, I'm parting whats left of my celi out. Just ask.

This is what i would do, safest and most reliable way.

In details, it's a pair of relays connected to the same fused wire going straight to the battery. One is triggered by the ACC (which is the cig power) and the other is triggered by your parking lights (which is the little green rim that lights around ur cig lighter). Both triggers have switches on them to be able to turn them on or off.
That way, ur not messing around with the stock power which is very safe. U'll never have to worry about burning out a fuse.
