So I woke up today, and went down to Auburn to have my Wisdom Teeth pulled. The only highlight of this whole thing was the nitrous they gave me.. but now I am sitting here, cannot talk worth a damn, because of all the gauze in my mouth from the persistant bleeding, and all I can eat is yogurt.. But they gave me a big ol' bottle of HydroCodene....

I hate life.. frown.gif

yeah, but you get vicodin.. going to get that refilled when its gone.. Does vicodin make anyone else tired as hell?

my wisdom teeth were growing in sideways like this

>lllllllllll< the 'l' are straight teeth, the '<>' are pointing in the same direction my wisdom teeth were.

the only good thing about this is that I finished reading the new harry potter this afternoon......... im really tired

Sheesh, you Americans and your painkillers.

Got all four pulled, while awake. Nitrous and novocaine -- actually maxed that out because I could still feel what he was doing, if not the pain of it -- and ibuprofen when I went home

Dentist actually had to cut my gums open to get at the teeth, then stitch them back up.

Was eating spareribs by the end of the week.

mine were impacted as well, so they had to cut my gums and break them in two peices to extract them.

Its not too bad. They just knocked me out and filled me with enough Vicodin to make me happy.. really dont feel any pain except when I wake up in the mornings..

Actually, when the teeth are still inside your gums it makes the healing process faster. If you wait for them to erupt, and then have them pulled, you'll have open holes in your mount that have to scab over (takes a long time in a wet mouth) before they can heal.

Having the gum cut open means the teeth can be pulled and the gums stitched shut -- barely any bleeding, lot less chance of infection, less post-operative pain, etc. Means you get to eat a lot sooner.

Heck, the most uncomfortable part of my surgery was feeling my face unfreeze. I find post-novocaine thaws unpleasant.

My friend just got hers pulled last week. Today we were eating and for some reason, they started to bleed... badly. She bled for 7 hours before I finally convinced her that she needed to go to the hospital. She got them sticked and its better now... sort of scary.

i got all 4 pulled at once, like 10 shots of novacaine..he had to cut them up to get to but there was no novacaine in that area. felt him slice my gum open and it hurt until he numbed it....got ice cream...that wasnt as bad as having 8 teeth pulled on a day, dam braces, dam babyteeth.
