Well seeing as I had no antenna before I out mine in, id say it sounds better wink.gif And it looks sweet. I rarely have reception problems, and those are always in area's where I had reception problems to begin with, anyways. Oh, and my antenna isnt actually touching the base wall, there is a gap between the screw and the side walls and it still picks up fine, if that helps any.

Yeah, the S2K antenna is hot! I got mine for $15 and I installed it myself. It was VERY easy to install. There's a how-to on the site. It looks so much better than that long crap. And if you do it like in the how-to, your reception should be the same as with the long antenna. My reception is excellent. Get it. It's the s h i t.

Don't do the how to on here, it looks ghetto and don't bother with the 7th gen base either. I got this and it looks so much better than the how to, or 7th gen base, and all you do is put it on plug it in and your done 10 min job at most. s2000 and base

I did the how-to and it doesn't look ghetto at all. So I really don't know what you're talking about. I removed my stock antenna. Got a 6-inch piece from the stock that fit around the S2K antenna hole. Crimped it on tightly so that I still get the good reception. Then I glued it to the base of the stock mount. Looks like it's screwed on except it'd glued tight as hell so I don't think it'll come off or get stolen. Looks professionally installed. I don't know if you've done it before following the how-to but if you did and it looks ghetto then you probably did something wrong.

From those pics it doesn't look ghetto, but you have a different base than what my car came with. Mine was a rounded ball it looked ghetto.
