Minding my own business...driving back from getting some drive through Hawaiian BBQ, cruising at speed limit, out of no where a black Corolla with riced out tail lights and some ok looking gun metal rims cuts me off and there are no other cars around...

Then bam, the classic racing situation: light turns red, and we pull up side by side. I look over to see a chubby unattractive white chick driving what is probably a stick, from the downshifting when she slowed down. I also see "Injen" stickers on her back windows and a tin can muffler.

I didn't really think she'd try to race me being that she's in a ****ty little corolla... but sure enough light turned green and she gunned it. After only a few seconds I was already about 3 cars ahead of her. I ended up going about 80MPH on regular streets, and she was still trying to catch up.

After we hit the next light, she changes lanes behinds me and turns onto another street... in other words, my GT Celica kicked her ass and she doesn't want to be further embarassed.

How many horses can that Corolla have anyways? I mean...wtf was she thinking. It can't be any more than the STs. Anyways, I shouldn't be hating on other Toyotas, but she should know her place... wink.gif

depends on what generation..AE86s come factory with somethin like 86 and like 62 ftlb of torque. But some carolla's come with like 120 or so. but they also weigh alot more than our celis. Even though we have the heaviest celi made thus far, carollas, camrys and so on are heavier. Its more the power 2 weight ration u gotta worry about. Mind u Carolla's can be F*ckin fast. This guy at a perfromance shop near here has a 3sgte powered 96 carolla. Hes pushin like 16psi or somethin and ive seen him smoke a guy in a lambo with this 4 door..lol.

And I'd kill for a AE86.

??? Where did you get any of that info? First of all the AE86 came with the 4AGE which was right around 100-105 hp and about the same torque (62??? WTF?)

And Celicas are heavier than Corollas.

Corollas are killer cars. Of course you can have a slow one, just like you can have a slow Celica, but there are fast Corollas too.. Like the new T-Sport Corolla with about 170-190 bhp stock. I'm sure you can find an older version before they were called T-Sport too.. With some almost equal amount of horsepower.

Listen to Dr_Tweak.. He knows his ****.

Yeah there are some killer rollas out there, like the one made in the 80s. I wouldn't dare run one of those.

I would. But hey i would race any car any time against my Celi. So what if i loose. It just that more fun to see the guy you were racing getting caught and you just cruise by at speed limit. Happened to me once but that was with my Nissan Primera. Racing from traffic light i stopped at speed limit he went on and was caught by the cops smile.gif

Beating a car that is supposed to be in another "level" of performance makes the victory that much sweeter.

At the same time, your GT isnt on another tier as her car, I'd put them in the same level of performance.
