is this possible to do in a celica? this is a highly modded 3sgte engine thrown into a supra. it is one of the most popular supras in the world...

i was amazed to see that somebody would put a 4-cylinder into a car that has a stock 6 cylinder (and probably twin turbo). but if you look at the numbers, he is pushing 530kW @ 8500rpm, and if i remember correctly that's around 750 hp on a turbocharged 4 cylinder (or as we like to call it...the 3s)!!!

top secret supra

can it be done in a celica? i'm new to the engine performance department, but it seems fesible to me... tell me what you think.

Sigh.

The Soupers run 3S-GTEs due to the Japanese GT racing regulations. They breath through restrictors, so 500bhp is about the limit.

The 3S sits a lot further back and is lighter than the 3 litre straight six, so improving the handling.

Pound for pound, the 2JZ-GTE will put out more torque than a similarly modified 3S. It's an extra half an engine after all.

Top Secret will sell you a balls out 3S to go in your lawnmower if you have enough cash. The engine will drop in a Celica no worries at all.

Can you afford it?

ok...i thought that i saw at some time that it had over 700 hp? i prolly saw wrong, thanks for the correction. but that's still 500 hp!...more than what most 2005 corvettes are putting out!

but i think that what you're saying is that what they did in this supra is possible to do in a celica (if you have the money) right?

also, i see that the engine is placed longitudinally in the bay...does this help with performance/handling? or is it just placed in there that way because of the supra's design to hold a straight-6 longitudinally?

no, i believe you are still right
that one has ~750
he was giving the reasons that people take a supra and pull the 2jz and put in a 3S

First off it is possible, some guy has a 700-800 whp mr2 but it has a really big turbo on it. There was a vid of it on here before.

Its placed like that because the supra is a rwd car not fwd.

the cool thing about the 3s is that if you have the money to mod it, there are lots of upgrade options out there to buy.... but i dont think u would want to know the price tag of that motor top secret built.

arent most gt cars restricted to 300 or 500 hp class?

It would be prefectly do-able in a Gt-4, but due to the only fwd in the reg celi's it'd be dumb... because you'd have to have WIIIIIIDE tires thus causing you to need to get into the engine bay... Then things start not to add up

hopes and dreams are not enough to claim the title of the the most hp in a celica swap.

xxxmina, has a 3rd gen 3sgte swap with a stand alone ecu, turbo, injectors, etc... he had a dyno sheet that showed 300 hp at the wheels. celica3sgte, is also close to hitting 300hp, but im not sure if he has done it yet.
