my auto st wouldnt let me even if i wanted to. i dont think a surburban town like mine would have the organized street races like that anyways. also, its illegal, dangerous, and stupid. i respect the law even if i dont always obey it.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

Anyone who races on a public road is a complete and utter tosser. No arguements.
It is totally stupid and the participants are usually young pricks who have a severly depleted neural function and an extremely small ****.
If you want to race, do it on a circuit or on an officially closed road. You should also have a helmet and no passengers (unless they have a helmet AND a full harness). At least then, if you have an accident, you are unlikely to injure/kill someone else and you stand a better chance of surviving.
I often wonder how street racers would feel if someone close to them was killed by some idiot racing on the street? Guess it wouldn't appear to be such a cool thing to do then would it? Okay, accidents do happen with 'normal' driving, but think how much your chances of crashing are increased by when racing.
Don't do it. It's dumb.

I used to attend them! where they would block off a whole road and race! it was exciting but never really worth it. I never saw an accident first hand but definetly heard of them on the nights i didnt go!

it used to be HUGE up here - we would get up to 500 cars but now its like 30 cars and nothing too exciting!

im pretty shure this person who made this topic didnt want to know how dumb street racing is... just ur stories of how some of them went down... i do tiny little street races... *ahem* highway or freeway little goes, nothing more. tried this light to light thing once and that didnt turn out pretty, other guy got busted. but myself have never done the whole f&f racing thing, that just calls for cops.

I goto the meets, used to race when I had a faster car, and I have only ran my 6gc once against a MR2, still pretty well known in our scene even tho its died down alot, but still pretty popular.

I am not against originized races, spotters, proper road blockedge and all the steps nessary's but the people who do it during the day time in traffic are idiots.

Name a track where you can bet, like what most people like todo and everybody would be there. I am pretty sure being a GT4 owner that you only go the reccomened speed limit all the time and take all corners at reccomened speeds correct?

Valo666 didn't want to hear a dozen people talk about how dumb street racing is. He could have gone anywhere to hear that. Your not going change anyones beliefs by yelling your opinion anyway. If you don't have anything to add the the thread, then shut up and keep your opinions to yourself.

As for me, I've never done any organized street racing like your talking about, but I do enjoy "acceleration tests" at lights. The other night I had two motorcycles behind me. We got to a light, and one of them pulled into the lane to my left, the other to my right. It was like some sort of movie. smile.gif I didn't have a chance to begin with, cause not only was my car full of friends(equaling about 400 extra lbs.), but racing a non-turbo 3000GT against two bikes = reality check. But it was fun non the less. The guy on my right just took off, but I kept even with the one on my left while he popped a small wheely every time he shifted... rolleyes.gif

Smart-a$$ crotch rockets. Almost makes me want to get one. biggrin.gif

The only street racing I ever saw was where someone would pull up next to you on the highway, go the same speed, give ya the nod to race and then you off...

I once saw this street race where there was this super fast Orange Toyota Supra with decals on it going against a real nice black Dodge Charger. Then, they both hit their NOS and jumped over a railroad track and then black Charger hit a semi and flipped. It was cool.

vRooOOoooOOOooOom!!!111 STrEet RacErz 4 lYfe yO!

Street racing is dangerous.
Don't do it.
