Unless you're an idiot about it -- overly dramatic, putting pressure on her, stalking her, etc -- saying you'd be interested in taking the relationship further shouldn't scare her off.
It's all in how you put it. Saying you don't want to be "just friends" is much less comfortable post-rejection than saying you want to build on the friendship. If you make the friendship the basis of your relationship, rather than an alternative to it, you're a hell of a lot less likely to lose it. |
