Hi,
Just a quick tip for those of you that run exposed pod filters with cold air intakes. I noticed that I was collecting alot of rubbish under th bonnet & stuck in the ridges of my High Flow filter. Things like grass seeds, old cigaret butts, leaves, bees and assorted bugs, candy wrappers etc..... All of which were entering via the 3 inch cold air intake pipe under our Celica & being pushed over the filter and what didn't stick to the filter found a place in the engine bay. Simple solution. I used an old stocking and streched it over the of the Intake pipe under the bonnet. (You can also strech it over the entry on the pipe too.) If you use it on one side then just remember to clean the end out every few months as leaves & junk will build up against the stocking fabric. You can also cut to size the foot of a stocking and slide it over the pod filter itself for those trips in the country. It won't stop fine dust particles, but it catches the larger ones. Try it for yourself. After a week if you take it off and shake it you will see the dust it holds. Cheers |
