I'm I the only idiot without power steering?, R there any of you who do not have P/S? Options

I can't get my power steering to work, because I ran out of ideas on how to hook up the storage tank, lines and everything else needed to make the thing work. So now, I am driving without P/S even tho I have the stock pump hooked up with the 4age engine. I drive everyday like this and lately, my left arm is starting to show some bruises, because my old habits were to turn the wheel with my left hand and slap myself with the right hand to keep myself awake. (college is a pain in da as)
