Im sure you all have herd this many times but i searched and cant find exactly what im looking for.
I just know installed the kybs and teins in my front drivers side only.
it tooks me like forever to figure out how to assemble the cartridge but i finally got it put in.
i would hear a smashing noise due to the old blown shocks, so i took it around the block to see if still did it, and it doesnt but now its making like a popping sound when i turn or hit a bump.
everything is on there the way its supposed to be, and also tight enough. Im thinking maybe just cuz i only have one side on and its unbalenced.......idk
does it do that with new shocks or springs......
i cant finish the rest of the car untill tomarrow cuz it got dark, but its bothering me, and idk what to do... confused.gif

If you installed lowering springs/coilovers on one side and not the other, your car will be fairly unhappy.

When you say tight, are you talking tight as you can get it or tightened to specified torque? And of course, are you sure about all the various nuts and bolts, particularly the gland nuts?

Why would you only upgrade 1/4 of the car? That will not fare too well in the long run

Sounds like you may not have the top strut mounts on straight. There is a little arrow > on the top and it should point out. If its not straight the springs will bind and pop while turning.

PRetty much looks like this... Clean it off real good and there is a arrow that looks just like this "^" and it should point outwards (away from the engine).

Think about what you just said...if that were the case, people would need new CV joints everytime they hit a bump or dip in the road. I bet his CV joints are fine.

Even though the sides are "even" from the top view, the upper perch(where the spring hits the top mount is often tilted.

sorry i havent updated, my internet has been down. but i finally got them all put on and all are fine exept for the same side which is the front drivers side.
i found the arrow but when i point it outward the spring doesnt line up with the mount ( where it has the molding for where the spring should be in place), so i pointed it outward anyway and it doesnt do it half as much, but still makes that same noise

could this offset the camber at all if not installed correctly?

It's a bit of a trick, but you have to align the spring and seat correctly? Is the spring properly seated in the lower spring seat?

Quite simply, it's rather unlikely the parts were manufactured wrong, so it's your issue to fix. The sixth-gen, like the fifth, has a lower spring seat, and upper spring seat, and then the strut mount on the front suspension. Aligning the mount is relatively easy, since it has bolt holes. The lower spring seat is fixed, and it's what you use to keep the spring correctly positioned. The problem is the upper seat, which will twist as you tighten the top nut on the piston rod.

A pair of bent-tip needle nose pliers is a really useful tool for keeping the upper spring seat correctly aligned while tightening the top nut.

Well if you drove around in an uneven height of your car for a few days. I pretty sure your going to experience some uneven Tire wear and tear and plus turning is going to destroy the boot part in your Axels. I know this from a stupid experience!

ok, I havent posted about this in a while, but I finally sorta fixed my noise problem.
When I used to drive before, my car would make ugly noises everytime I hit any bump, but I finally fixed that.
Now the only problem is when Im at a stop, and I turn my wheel, you can hear like a rubbing sound from the springs or something, but when Im driving and rolling, everythings cool. No noise or anything.

Its just really annoying and embarassing, when I have someone in the car, and trying to back out of a parking spot and my cars making all that noise when Im turning. frown.gif (only front drivers side)
