does neone here have the apexi N1 exhaust on a 3sgte... looking for some feedback on what you think. also lookin to see if neone has done a dual exhaust with the 3sgte.

I currently have the apexi N1 turboed version.. but have not used it yet and am thinking about doing dual with the no turboed and 2.5 inch y pipes at the axle and 3inch the rest of the way but want some feedback from similar setups

please no comments from non 3sgte'd celicas with dual as that will only slow you down.. period

i'll tell you this

the turbo version on an NA car sounds very very bad, infact, when my friends car is about 300ft away you cant tell if it is an rc car or a real car.

with a turbo car it sounds a lot better and gets the job done really well

as for a dual setup, no real point, just run 3 inch pipe all the way back unless you want the extra weight and symmetric look. and looks from people questioning why someone has a fake dual exhaust(what most domestic and import owners call dual exit exhaust) on a i4 car.

i would say to go for it

i have heard that exhaust on a supra and its nice but that is single exhaust.

as you can guess dont do fake dual exhaust.

but yea it sounds real nice

on a 2jz so go for it.

yea I'm really up in the air about this.. I'm a big freak on things being symetrical and balanced... and the single exhaust bugs me.. BAD, but I understand the flow rate on a 4 cylinder and know that dual inst the best option. thats is why I am thinking about doing the y'd section with smaller dia pipe and the N/A exhausts instead of the Turboed version. that way it has the look of dual and as close to flow as a single

would really like to talk to somone that has done dual on a 3s powered celica

if the 3s meant to have dual/Y-pipes, it'd have it stock. dual exhaust on import cars is kinda dumb looking IMO, unless it's somethin that comes that way, like a TT 300z, or somethin like that...

i personally would do 3" turbo back exhaust, w/ as little bends as possible, and going under the rear suspension in the rear, instead of THROUGH... you couldn't get 3" through that anyway...

that's how i'm doin my exhaust when the 4agze goes in, only 2.5" piping.

just my opinions. and i think it's gonna be VERY hard to find someone w/ input on what a dual 3s celica is like...KUYA over on celica.net had dual exhausts, but iono if he kept it after his swap, and i don't even know if he's done yet....

only prob with doing that is that its easy to scrape it all up. I was thinkin about running the piping up through the trunk floor where it goes over the axle

you could do that.

Charlie's HKS Windmaster exhaust goes under the axle tho, and it's about 2.5", and i do not believe he's had any troubles w/ it. however, w/ my car being as lowered as it is (all the way down w/ GC coilovers), i probably will.

but fromt he looks of your car, the height (unless now altered) appears as though it woudl give the clearance. smile.gif. but the trunk thing is another idea...but that would be a lotta bends to go up, then back down and out at a normal angle..

I have 3" no that goes under and I have scraped it all to hell. as for going over if you do it right you only need to do one bigger bend. you have to either have a mandrel bender that is enormous or fill the pipe with sand and bend it around a circle object that is the same diameter as the bend. but you can do it with a nice u shape that doesnt affect the airflow like normal mandrel bends do

My friend had a Apex'i N1 on his 240sx and it sounded nice but now a days i would think it sounded ricey. Try Greddy, i have the SP and i love the deeper sound. the N1 might sound hot on a turbo though. but screw all this, just go for whatever has the best performance benefits.
