I have two cars besides the Celi...but don't like to drive them during winter. The Celi took a turn down a bad road though. I started it up this morning to hear engine knock. A piston is slapping. Excellent. So...unless I decide to the 3S-GTE I will be parting her out. Maybe someday down the line I will have another and do a swap, or maybe this one...but as it sits in my mind right now my intuitions tell me just to part it out. So if anyone wants anything from it, please please just tell me through pm and I will reply as soon as I can. Make offers on stuff, if this happens for real (should be decided within a week), I will just put up a thread in the buying/selling thread so I can keep track of what is gone. This post is more just to say although I'm losing the Celi, I won't leave the site. I think I have a lot of knowledge that is helpful to people and hopefully I can keep sharing that. Thanks guys, it has been great owning this car and growing with it using the site, but these things happen.

Nah man, I'm sticking around. I don't want to give the car up trust me. If I part this one out then I will own another one within 4 years and if I don't part it out then it will have a 3SGTE swap within 18 months.

I say part it out, and most people part out a car for around 1k total i think..... put that money towards a 3s, then but a crappy one and re-do

Alright, well my madre says the Celi needs to be fixed. I drive my WRX now as my driver and the civic is our family show car. So, my mom wants a second car for her to have just as a backup. That's where the Celi comes in, so she tells me she will pay for 3/4 of putting a new engine in. Neat. Then she asked if I would figure out where to get the engine and where to have it installed...hmmmm. Thinking more... Then my padre says he'll give me 2000 towards it. Thinking even more... Looking at prices... $1125 shipped for a 54k mile 5SFE with a 12k warranty. My offers for install were 1700, then 1300, then I got one for 1100. That's 2225 just to get another economy engine in there. WTF? No way! Not on my clock... Welcome me back, and soon to the swap community. In approx. 3 weeks I will be doing my own 3SGTE swap. I along with my Uncle's help did my mom's KL-ZE swap in her Mazda 626. Now we will be doing this. A much more difficult swap than that one was...but we are doing it. Thank you guys for the huge amounts of information on this site. My mom read through it and finally feels confident that with this site as my backer...I will be able to complete the swap. Thanks guys, hopefully in two months you can add me to the completed swap list. I have a clip coming on thursday. Will start swap next weekend. I will document the swap and take pictures, because the more documented swaps with pictures the better.
