If a big meet is scheduled at a time where my car is cosmetically and mechanically sound I will try my very best to go.

I'm in as long as its after March. Thats when my car goes in for paint. And i can only be gone from work a day, which would be a friday where i could leave to the (meet) that friday and stay till sunday afternoon and go back home. So hopefully a lil close for me. But lets get it going seriously.

So lets make a poll seeing how many people would actually go to a meet if we just said its at KC. And see how many people we could get. I mean ya i know we have a while till June. But still we need to get every single little thing organized before we start this.

Hi people... first time poster, long time browser.
I registered because of this thread. Waaaaay back in the days of c.net, I did some research on this subject (I'm a geographer), and I actually mapped out the distribution of some 300 celica owners to figure out where the best area to have a national meet would be. The results I got (they weren't final, but they were good), was that the best place to have a national meet would be anywhere in Ohio, because the data showed the largest cluster of owners in and around that area of the U.S. Of course that included all generation celicas. The distribution of 6th gens could be different. Anyways, that would be the location that would maximize turnout. Everyone east of the rockies would probably come (even Canada celicas), and most owners would have less than a 1000 mile trip (roughly a day of driving). There wasn't a large enough west-coast distribution to warrant moving the meet further west. Like I said, the results could have been better with more data. But the celica center of America IS Ohio... for now. Do what you will with my research. Just trying to help. |

Interesting, but if it was based on a poll of people different from the ones that are attending, its not very relevant. Also, even if the biggest cluster of people is in the Ohio area, the analysis doesn't take into account where other people are that want to come. For example, assume there are 50 celica owners in Ohio and none want to go to the meet. Assume further that 20 celica members want to go to the meet: 10 are from Kentucky and 10 are from Georgia. The best place for the meet would be Tennessee, not Ohio. Therefore, the meet should be in Tennessee. -------------------- QUOTE(lagos @ Jul 10, 2006 - 1:55 PM) i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this. |

Jgreening has a very good point. And see if we could get more people from both sides to go then it would be best to be in Kansas. Because both sides would be an equal drive to everyone. But i'm still hopin we can get more people then this. and just all meet up in Kansas..

It's looking like Tennessee.. not much interest from the west coast.
![]() With that in mind. What does everyone think of this? http://www.cyberrentals.com/USA/Tennessee/...rge/p127359.htm or http://www.cyberrentals.com/USA/Tennessee/...rge/p121440.htm ^ That was has it's own poooooollll! This post has been edited by Jen: Nov 1, 2005 - 9:48 PM -------------------- |

Well, I really like the 2nd one. It sleeps like 20.. and if we get 20 people interested.. that's only $22/each.
It has a pool, a hot tub! And it's secluded so we can be loud without neighbors bitching. ![]() If it's during spring or summer the pool would be fun. ![]() -------------------- |
