I also found a Russian member on here who had a Caldina 4th Gen 3SGTE in his Celica.....can't search for his profile however with the site only running forums right now. Mentioned it a while back, but probably forgotten by now.

I think his profile name is Paul. He also had what looked like a body kit he made at home with cardboard.

A friend of mine got a caldina motor in his 5th gen st185.
He is running 250 whp at 1.0 bar with good intake, exhaust and I think the fuel pump was changed too.

QUOTE(BBoYRuGGeD @ Nov 16, 2005 - 4:57 PM)

just wanted to add this little bit of info...

"A gen3 3S-GTE is no better a platform with which to make big power than a gen2. Although the gen3 produces more power in its stock configuration, all of that power comes from simple improvements that can be applied to a gen2 engine. Once you reach about 300rwhp, the playing field is essentially level."
-mrcontrols

thats coming from the power primer section of their site smile.gif

bboy

I think this quote is true but misleading. I would bet that less than 1% of 3sgte owners run in excess of 300whp. Thus, for those of us driving cars with BPU, the gen III is the superior choice for power, safety and reliability.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

i think we all want what we dont have... i could see myself having a nice 3rd gen motor, and dreaming of some turbo kit to make my car even faster.

I'm getting the 4th gen but only because Casey at XAT wanted too, its no extra charge to me he found he clip for only 20 more than the 3rd gen i was getting, and he said he would bite the 200 soo. and it has less miles but none of it really matters because i'm replacing all of the key parts to all the motors, Intake mani, turbo, intercooler, fuel system, etc, etc... and i'm going stand alone so...
