*sigh* after so long... my celica is here... but.. after initial impression... i'm kinda disappointed... i was hoping for better condition... maybe my expectations were too high for a used car... for those of you that remember the black one i had pics of back in the summer... maybe you remember and can make comparisions (i don't have those pics anymore.. but things like ripped cloth seats... hole in carpet... small rust spots as well... hard black plastic piece beside window coming off etcetcetc) anyway... some pics of the silver one...

o, a lot of white dots you see in a lot of the interior pics.. it's just snow. it was snowing while i was taking them

first thing i saw... i really have no idea if this is the shipping company's fault or was it just slowly leaking before... it's hard to say when both dealer and shipping company say it's not their fault...:

luckily i was gonna get winter tires anyway

the ad said the sideskirts were scratched up... just didn't expect them like this:

and

at least the wheels are in pretty good condition *shrugz*

seats are leather... and i saw from the ad pics there were about 3-4 small rips on driver seat... which are in this pic here:

what i didn't see from the pics was:
user posted image
this is the only car i've ever had with leather.. so maybe it's normal to get this worn... i dunno actually

shifter knob is worn:
user posted image
well... i assume wear on this is normal? i really dunno... my 93 camryisn't this bad... but i guess it's different material

i posted this stock sideskirts pic in the exterior section because i have no clue wtf those lines are...
user posted image

this pic sux... but yea i just decided to take pics of the mats... front ones are a bit worn. but yea.. i guess it's expected from a 7yr old car?
user posted image

i knew about door dings and spots which were keyed... so here is just a pic of one:
user posted image

the steering wheel is more worn than in the pics... since it's leather wrapped.. .the stitches look worn
user posted image

well wuddya kno... those damn door edges and their rust? it's a florida car too... the hood has a few small areas with rust spots too (i THINK it's rust? it's brown...) prolly from getting chipped on the highways
user posted image

just a random pic of the plastic piece in the hatch that lifts up.. this is underneath it:
user posted image

passenger side side-mirror:
user posted image

o yea... one of the side markers are chipped... but i guess that's just an excuse for clear ones

and this is just a random pic i took of the entire car... just great.. the day it arrives it sees snow:
user posted image

i guess the car could use a new paint job... or mayb it just looked bad because it was dirty and snowed last night...

maybe also since i'm so focused on finding the bad points it makes it look real bad as well... but yea...

i dunno.. am i too picky? i couldn't drive the car.. not allowed to yet... it's in bond... but all electricals work (can't really test ac in winter tho)

yea... people are gonna flame me and say it's my fault for getting a car without actually going down and taking a look...
i had some guy @ toyota look at it for me.. he said he was in pretty gd condition for a 98... (is he for real???)
i dunno... what do u all think?

i guess all cars look good from a distance (even about 5 footsteps away) so yea... pics reallie suck @ showing stuff

well at least the interior parts were shiny? and rear seats were like new

can't really complain now tho.. it's all paid for...

That's not that bad, If i took pictures of every dent, scratch or issue my car has i'd need a few posts. 98 isn't a new car, your going to have to expect some dents and scratches. These things are all repairable if you want to put the time/effort into it.

yea. i planned to give it some luvin and make it better... just that i spent a long time trying to find a better one to start with... and if anyone remembers the black one from the summer... i guess it's because this car cost about 2500-3000cdn more than the black one...

although i REALLY wanna know what those squiggly lines on top of the sideskirt are...

Honestly I think you're being a bit too picky for a car that's almost 8 years old. Especially with things like the bottom of the hatch cover, etc. I would be upset about the sideskirts but then again take them off and paint them, it's not like the fading on the roof of my car.

Like it was already said if I were to pick out all the little things wrong with my car, all the dents and little worn spots it would be like 3 times what yours is. Steering wheel is worn funny, headrest broken, seats worn down, door dings everywhere, fading paint, big dent (that i just fixed biggrin.gif ), power antenna doesnt work, hatch plastics are all weird and missing their connectors, etc.

But then I think of how far the car has come from when I bought it...and I realized I've fixed so much already lol. Keep your head up man, it'll give you something to do. Who wants to buy a perfect car, there's nothing to fix!

Don't panic. How many miles are on it? I would get some "spot" painting done to take care of the chipped and scratched areas. You may gawk at your interior issues b/c you just got the car, but if they are in areas in the car that you don't look at on a daily basis (ex. tearing in back seats), you will probably forget about them after a while.

dude ur car isnt that bad. Every car has slight dmg. When i bought my car, the switch for my sunroof was being held into my roof by a garbage bag, my rear 1/4 on the pass side had a nice big rust spot like the size of a coke can, i had a big patch of bondo cracked on the rear bumper, my front bumper was spider webed from alot of crappy layers of paint, my drivers seat had/still has a hudge gash of the material out of it, and its alot rippin the foam out, u can almost see the seat rails, I only got 1 floor matt, my hatch cover is all ripped up and faded, my rear seats were blue(suppost 2 b black), my rims were like destroyed from curb kisses, i had 3 diff shades of red, i was missin the volume knob off my tape deck that didnt light up, my antenna was broken, sunroof was leaking. Trust me, a few lil paint scratches here n there, and dirty floor mats and a dirty steering wheel isnt 2 bad. THere r alot of worse off ones out there. I still dunno why u didnt buy a celi up here. Theres been a really nice black on black leather with repainted/refinished wheels on autotrader.ca for like 4 or 5 months with 110XXXkm on it for like $7500.

PS: i have an OEM knob, minus the leather, if ur interested. Also if u ever need help with ur car and ur in the gta, PM me and ill be glad 2 help.
