You could do that, or probably even 1/4 " board (dark brown, smooth on one side, rough on the other), usually around $10 US from Home Depot. If you measure everything out they will cut it for you. Should give you plenty of support. for under the sub, but if you wanted to screw into a board than its too thin, you need 1" or 1/2 MDF probably,

Getting a single piece of wood to cover the whole trunk floor isn't possible unless you use something that really bends. 1/4" plywood should work, just use the carpet as a template. Too hold the enclosure down just get a couple of metal angle brackets or pull the subs out and screw through the bottom of the box into the car. Just make sure you don't screw into anything important.

the reason for removing the spare is for wieght reduction but your talking about adding pieces of wood (last time I checked it was kinda heavy, especially plywood) and also audio systems are not really for race cars, so wieght reduction really should not be a problem in the first place, I hate that stupid CR@P in F&F that all there cars have all this custom stuff in them that would just add wieght, especially Vin Diesel's RX with the custom seat with the flip open for the NOS (also leather is alot heavier then cloth) the motor that made his nos switch pop out from the hazard button, and not to mention is stereo components that took up almost the back half of the car!!!

Anyways instead of getting wood just put the tire back in! unless you have a race to go to, in which case take your subs out also!

having a bad ass stereo and stuff in your car doesnet mean it cant be fast...you can build a 10 second car and still have all that **** you just mentioned...and before you say anything i know that the fast and the furious had sooooo many mistakes and stupid things about cars in it but there are fast cars out there that are fast as crap that have all that stuff in them

yeh but a 5s-fe, or 7a-fe is not going to be fast, ever... so whats the real point in reducing 20lbs or less with the spare...

and mainly what I was saying is that he is taking out his spare which means the trunk floor has no suport and he then has to add wood which just adds the wieght back in, should just save the trouble and put the damn spare back in, and hey who knows when your gona get a flat? besides did you take out the jack alnog with the spare, kinda a set of items...
