Okay well my back window has been coming out for a little bit now, and its a bit expensive to fix so I been doing okay just puting something under the window at night while it rains, but recently I opened my door after a night of storming rain to find a puddle of water under my drivers side and behind the driver seat, and I dont mean a little I mean like 4 inches!
The passenger side was dry and the back under the window hadent over flowed or anything, so I thought maybe theres a leak over that side? But the seat was dry, just the carpet underneithe it! and the windows were rolled up and the weather stripping seams fine, my question is, does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? And how to protect against it, aside from getting a new top? Any suggestions are great, thanks. |

Take it to a car wash and find out where the water is coming in and then fix that area.

my top seems to hold very well, i had to re-seal the rear window using clear window silicone(SP?). But if it is raining extremely hard water finds its way through the front joint(visor area) and the rear(at the quarter window area) that flows to the floor somewhat.

LOL I've never been able to escape it... Water is smart... It always finds way into the car... Especially near my drivers side tweeter

I have never had a problem under normal conditions. If I park going up a hill and open the window, all the water on the roof will come in the window but thats only happened once.

I must be lucky, I have yet to find any signs of leakage. However, Water gets in where the quarter windows, the top, and the body meet. There is a small area theere that is where i believe water can get in and when i am in the car when it rains it sounds like a waterfall in the back.

Is it possible that your drivers side window wasn't rolled up all the way? From the way it sounds, it may have been down just a shade. If you do find out where the leak's coming from, layer some clear water-resistant tape to form an overlapping shingle. That's whats holding 1/2 inch of my rear window from leaking. If you tape it right, instead of pouring in the car, rain will just run over the tape and down the outside.
ps, dont run your car through a car wash, it's bad for the top. |
