Hello, New here.
Just have a few questions.
I had a 91 NA Mr2 that I swapped a 93 3S-GTE into so I have a bit of experience.
I would like the 4th Generation 3S put into a 97-99 GTS.
I realize the 4th Gen comes from the Caldina which is AWD.
Do I need anything else besides the GTS and a Clip? What parts from what car should be used?

If there is a link to this information I'd be gratefull..I just see general information about swapping a st185 into one, not a 4th gen. The information has been usefull though!

*ok i did a better search, wiring sounds the be the biggest deal. but aside from the Tranny of the GT what else would be needed? How much power can the GT tranny handle or is the Mr2 Turbo tranny stronger?*

no one on here has ever dont a 4th gen 3sgte swap. why do you want that one anyway? its going to be very hard to get parts for it and you would definetly have to go with a stand alone, just to get it to run.

look into the 3rd gen st205. that, in my opinion is a better motor then the 4th gen. at least youll have a great water to air ic, 550cc injectors, map sensor, and a nice ct20 turbo.

cool
I already saw that information. I went to the Mr2 board and saw a thread where RickyB put the engine in, went stand alone. Too rich for me! I think I'll end up with a regular 3S.

It seems like an interesting project to keep me busy. Reading through RickyB's thread though, sounds like it'll be more of a headache. I have no experience with Stand Alones.

The 205 comes with the 550cc injectors? wow, I don't remember the 3rd gen mr2 one did. What about availability on 3rd Gen parts?

getting parts for the st205 isint a problem. 90% of the sutff is the same as the st185 and the rest, you can order through a local dealer as long as you look up the part numbers on mr2oc.com
