depends on the condition of the GT and your ST.

only difference is the engine mounts. look up the post jeff put up on the 3sgte in the forced induction section. he shows you how to put the new mounts for the GT in on the ST. iam thinking about doing the swap also to my ST now because the 7afte isnt as power full as i want it and i got some money put aside and a second car now.

read jeffs stickie... it has all the info in there. there is really nothing hard about it. wiring is the same, then all you need is a stock GT tranny, GT axels and GT motor mounts. thats pretty much it. people make it sound harder then it is.

Really, it's not much harder at all.

The other things you might want to get are GT a/c lines and p/s lines, to make it go easier.

you'd probably also want a GT ash tray, incase your smoking cigarettes in your swapped 3s.

Just my 2 cents.

not a chance in hell .

plan for 1-2months. stuff always goes wrong, especially if its your 1st time doing it.

yes. The actual swap would take no time at all. Having all of the parts, wiring done, knowing exactly what to do in any and every situation or problem that comes up, does take some time.

but I doubt it wink.gif

What lagos said.

The other day, I was out in my shop, and I had to remove a shifter cable bushing from a shifter mechanism on a tranny. You know, those little rubber things that go inside the ends of the shifter cables?

The stupid thing wouldn't budge. I spent like three hours just trying to get this stupid thing off. Okay, it wasn't really that long, but I did spend a LOT of time on it, and I'm thinking, "Here I am, a professional and experience engine swapper, and I'm getting hung up trying to get a SHIFTER BUSHING OFF!!!"

But the fact is, those are the things that come up and slow you down. Lots and lots of stupid little stuff. Like I've always said: "It isn't the big stuff, it's the little details that slow you down."

In case you care about the rest of the story, it was actually the inner metal part of the bushing that was stuck (rusted) on here, and it just wasn't coming off. (Some of you guys know just how little room there is to work down there with the tranny installed). After I worked on it for a while, I finally took ANOTHER bushing, pressed the inside metal part out (tearing the bushing), and then installed the bushing over the metal part that was stuck to the tranny. With a good washer over it to ensure that it stays together, it was just as good as the real thing. smile.gif

yeah...its always something dumb... striped bolt, missing part, etc...

i remember during my swap, was using a ****ty little hand saw to try to cut some of the wooden pallett that the clip was shiped on . it was taking forever and the whole time i was thinking " no one EVER told me i would be working with wood ! " lol
