Well sometime last week, i started noticing that the acceleration of the celica was acting a lil funny. If i tried to accelerate the car even the slightest bit, it would quickly rise in revos... Now it has gotten to the point where i can barely accelerate at all. it seems like every gear thinks its in neutral. Im new to standards, but ive never been a speed demon with the shifting... so im curious what could be going on with the engine? Any help is appreciated...

...that sucks.

Well I guess my next question is what kinda clutch should I get? when i searched on clutches, i didnt find too much, just wondering if i should stay stock, or go ahead and get a different clutch.

Definintly go with an ACT or a TRD. both are very good quality and good clutches but the TRD will be pretty costly.

well i dont have time to change it or learn how to...so i just sent it to a shop. Its going to cost me 400 for the shop to do it, and then another 150-200 for parts... So its not quite the 1k, but i dont have time to fix it myself.

I suggest you do a tranny flush first! mine was doing that and as it seems I wasen't using M/T tranny fluid and it was running really low due to a tranny seal leak. It might have freaked you out at first, but it seemed like it had no moving power??

yea well, it turns out i had a coolant leak, as well as a trasmission fluid leak, so those got fixed, but i was still have the same clutch problem, just not as seriously, so we'r gonna go ahead and replace the clutch.

the clutch is a wear item. at some point it needs to be changed out. just get an oem disk and presure plate and have them resurface the flywheel. should cost you about 500$ ish in laybor. shop around tho.

Go to the local auto part store, the clutch is pretty cheap. But the flywheel....Thats something different. Might as well get some performance clutch and flywheel while your at it. Check to make sure that the tranny is not the one that has gone bad.

yeup get toyota to quote you and itll probably be more. i mean for someone who hastn done it 20 times its really an 8 hour long indevour. plus a $200+ clutch, $50 to have your flywheel resurfaced, $80 on new flywheel bolts, new tranny fluid, new throwout bearing, etc etc, its expensive.
