I have noticed that a number of threads that I have posted in recently have been deleted. I assume this has occurred for a number of reasons including originator deletions, mods deleting for inappropriate comments, etc. The problem is that sometimes these threads have decent information in them. Other times there are people that are being called out on being BSers or scammers. I say lock them or edit posts if you have to, but let the threads live. Not a big deal - just a suggestion.

i know your trying to do the right thing for your motor, but this is one of those times where you should just trust the guys who have had their swaps for a while and have done a ton of research into this.

I see what you’re saying, but I like the way moderators jump on threads like that and get rid of them. It's important to keep a positive atmosphere here. It sucks that sometimes valuable info is lost when these posts are gone. I think there should be a way to temporarily delete a thread, and then have the moderators vote to see if there's any hope of cleaning it up and saving valuable info. Although I would like to have a say in what goes on, it would be too difficult to involve general members. That's my opinion as of 2:54am on Sunday night, susceptible to change.

Nah, I don't want anyone to go searching around for deleted threads. I just meant it as an idea for the future. I don't feel strongly about it though - just an idea.

I think that some threads are better off just being deleted. Though some do have good information, so when they do, we as management try to simply remove specific posts and such in order to keep the thread public and open.

you know, i noticed the same thing. a lot of threads are hear one minute and gone the next, simply because the mod on duty dosnt agree with the thread. i think thats wrong! i can understand if someone posts porn or something that brakes the forum rules, but besides that, i dont think peoples thoughts and opinions should be deleted, simply because the moderator dosnt agree with them.

a good example is dustin15brown thread that was in off topic. he started a new thread trying to explain to people what was going on with the group buys he had tried to start. some moderator didnt agree with it and just deleted that. there was nothing offencive in the thread, and it never got out of hand.
i noticed this happening with more then just that thread too.

we have a golden rule over at celicatech. NEVER delete (unless is something horrible like mass spaming)! we always just close or move threads, if they start to get out of hand... but we dont delete them simply because we dont agree with them. the idea is to keep all that info in the archives, so that if the person acts up again, we have all of their posts on hand to refer back to.

the Toyota Curren is compared to be like swapping a Honda Type R front onto an Integra.

i guess it SHOULD be HTR lol
i just want that Curren front end gone. . .wish someone wanted to do a front end conversion that was different from what's been done.

Yeah I remember reading that. I though it was in your FS thread.

I'll try looking for it again.
