but whats tight about sony is that in a way its universal, we have a sony big screen and there a little spot to put the mem stick, and computer came with a built in one. i just think its kool, in pc magazine fuji had the best quality camera, fuji had them all beat by a long shot

If you looking to get a decent digital camera Look at any of the SLR like ones.

Yes you will be paying $500 plus, but then again you can take pictures that you couldnt with a point and shoot camera. Also Many Digital SLR like cameras double as a digital video camera.

I think fuji has a 8 mp camera and kodak hasa 14 mp one prices range up to $2500-$5000. 7mp is equivalent to very fine grained film, anything higher grained or higher mp would be used in professional grade photography, magazines, advertizements and such.

Though there is a new proprietary technology that extrapoliates greater resolution from surrounding pixels effectively tripling image resolution. So a 3mp camera with this software upgrade would effectly capture photos as a 9mp camera. I think its used in the Sigma SLR Digital 3mp camera.
