Wow! thanks for all the replys. I'm going to offer 8.5k if the car has still not sold. It's been sitting for awhile and the only thing that concerns me is it's a three owner car. Maybe thats why it's still sitting?

Or maybe its just cause no one really wants to buy a celica? Sometimes a desire for a certain car isn't there and so it sits and waits untill somebody comes and wants to take it home tongue.gif

Good Luck!With The Car!

allow me to share a similar saga.

i bought my 99gt (auto) hatch a year ago, 95,300 miles, for $7,000. ironically it was a 3 owner car as well. dealer had free carfax, which said one accident, but no airbag deployment. told the dealer i was going to take it to a mechanic before buying, so on my test drive i did, and got a "used car check" done. told me i had to do the timing belt and the engine probably needed a tune up and a bunch of little things, but there was no frame damage or anything really bad. tried to get info on the accident from the sherif's office, but no luck. bought it, imediately put $1600 into the timing belt and averything else.

overall i don't think i got the best deal in the world, but a few weeks ago i was driving out of my neighborhood and a kid waved to me, so i slowed down to wave back, and say "what's up"...he said "not much. cool car."

^^^That's what it's all about biggrin.gif

I would automatically try talking the dealer down, find any flaw that I could use and go with it. Even if the price doesn't go down very far it's still a very reliable cae and a good investment.
