In a true sponsorship you sign an agreement saying you will attend X amount of shows a year. They may give you free parts, perhaps a percentage of parts, perhaps all your entering fees for shows, but you definately have to attend shows. They are only sponsoring your car if they feel it will attract attention to help sell their product. Thats why these "carsponsorships.com" things arent real they're scams. You generally lose free reign on creativity on your car because they basically say hey put this on and you either do or you lose the sponsorship.

^^ wrong on one part, right on every other.. sorry the carsponsorships thing is actually not a scam, my friend has gotten 14 sponsors from it and its no joke, hes a cop i dont think he would lie.. most people say its a scam because they pay 90$ and jus sit and wait.. u cant do that, you have to bug the ****tttt outta them every single chance you get, everything and anything you do you gotta send pics, painted an interior piece take a pic and send it in, it works but you have to be patient.. and yes your gonna say no its not real if they wanna sponsor you then you shouldnt be paying and blah blah but w/e i guess thats how there making money and we all wish we thought of it first.. it does indeed work ive seen it work it at least 5 cases where 10 sponsors came out of it and no im not talking **** deals. i dont wanna fight over this so im done and not typing a response
![]() moving on.. i actually just picked up 2 sponsors, one audio and one tuning/style? (parts from vis, tein, axis, etc so its like all categories i guess).. all you pretty much gotta do is attend shows, most important part, and you have to constintly be adding and working on your car, you cant win shows without parts and you cant win shows without having something new each show, show up an entire series with the same car and the judges are jus gonna be like ok..next.. erik was right your basically a walking bilboard, they send you out parts and you put em on, some sponsors (top named) will customize parts for you and send you parts that YOU want as long as its to a certain extent.. i kno sparco you have to have EVERYTHING they sell in order to keep the sponsor.. im talking pedals, steerling wheel, harnesses seats and anything they sell.. my friend has turned down many sponsors just because he didnt wanna lose some of his other parts.. so i mean with a few sponsors its cool, my friend has like 20-22 and basically hes redoing his entire car for free.. which is nuts but its like the 15th time hes changed it haha if your really big into the scene then sponsors are the way to go, get your car out there and help them while you do it. Ive read way to many bad things about SCP to take it seriously. What you have to do is apply for it (I've never seen someone turned down) and then you pay an IIRC fee ($88) and then you get a sticker, a list of suppliers and you get supposedly up to 55% off parts you want.
Now basically what they're doing is taking your $88 and giving you a slight discount on parts that they have deals with their "suppliers." So if you add up the # of people who pay $88 in "processing fees" and the amount of discount they actually give people you'll see where the profit is made. I do agree that a few people have recieved heavy discounts, but a business cant scam EVERYONE or word of mouth will get around. And then if you've ever heard there are people they hire to infiltrate forums, such as this, gain the trust of the community and then show support for such things. This is a known strategy. On top of that, SCP has a banner up that says "2006 Sponsorships Filled." Hmm, interesting, even more so that this site: http://www.teamscp1.com/website/index.asp has popped up at about the same time. SCP means street car performance now. Honestly, I stand by what I said. I think they are a very slick company who jumped on the tuner sponsorship bandwagon and they're taking alot of people for a ride. Please read as much as you can on the internet before you go and give out your credit card information. -------------------- |

Ive had alot of audio suppliers ask to sponsor me...and by alot, i actually mean 3. Companys named Sound Creation, Custom Sounds, and AudioFX...(local) but even then, they only give you a discount, and its still more expensive then if i was to just buy the stuff off ebay and what not... So i always turn em down. I think it would be cool to have some sponsors..

Vis will not sponsor anything pretty much past 2000.. everyone is looking for newer cars on the scene and thats what there looking for, sponsors are hard to come by and for celicas they dont make that many parts as it is.. but i guess every little bit helps -------------------- ![]() |
