just cause it's 'alltrac' doesn't mean it has a 3sgte. 'alltrac' simply means awd...

There were corolla alltracs and camry alltracs...

I also saw a 88 or 89 Camry Le all trac. I didn't even know they made Camry's with all trac until about 5 months ago. Hmmmm... I think I see a project coming smile.gif lol

should be pretty easy and cheap to swap in a 3sgte into one of those camrys. it would make for a crazy sleeper with an upgraded turbo.

The Celica Alltrac hands down has a 3sgte but the Camry is the wagon. A guy at my church had one, I can't remember what it had in it. 3sfe? Ugly as hell but it's a good winter beater that would never die and get you anywhere you wanna go lol

I know those are rare, and rare means hard to find parts for. And even if it is AWD, how much power could the AWD drivetrain hold? You might just be snapping drive shafts and burning differentails left and right with this thing. And I think any Camry with a 3sgte would be a sleeper. The AWD actually would just slow it down. AWD isn't good for much but gravel/dirt/snow. Sure you can get a good hook up with it in a drag, but that about it.

i was thinking more along the lines of swaping it, and upgrading it to make a nice 400hp at all 4 wheels. thats what awd cars are good for.

Yes, they are. But for all the work needed to do this to a AWD Camry, or Corolla if we're going that far, you might as well do it to something else. But then there's the love of Toyota and need for something different. I don't think that they would make the Camry or Corolla drive train even close to being capable of handling that power. But, the 5th gen GT-4 doesn't do to bad, from what I've heard. Toyota does make quality parts. It's a very entertaining idea to throw around.

3sfe in the camry and 4afe/7afe in the Corolla. The older corolla alltracs had the 4AC...

IMO... AWD is overrated for a street tuned car.

Don't even bother with the 3SFE...not worth it.

A lot of work on a Camry Alltrac with a 3SGTE? A Sleeper? ST205 conversion? Already done tongue.gif
1990 Camry Alltrac 5spd swapped with 1996 ST205 3SGTE, trans., rear end, brakes, and more.

I would like to see a different set of wheels, but other than that, I absolutely love that Camry. I don't say that much.

EDIT: I would really consider building something like that. I hate to copy, but I just really like that car.

hey why does he have an air to air top mounted intercooler? i can see its a 3rd gen 3sgte...but i dont understand why he'd use an air to air top mount IC and not the water to air top mount IC that comes with the 3rd gen 3sgtes?

edit: thats a nice car btw

Alltrac:
Camry Sedan
Camry Wagon
Tercel Wagon
Celica
Corolla Wagon
Corolla Sedan

I believe the Rolla's came with the 4a's, and alot of the other alltrac's came with 5sfe/3sfe. They are awsome even tho sadly alot of them Auto-tragic. However what is cool about some of them is a push button on the shifter that enables you to select from FWD or AWD, Hence with some trick wiring you could have FWD,AWD,RWD on the fly.
