Toyota Killed my MR2, Red and black isnt a JDM thing RIGHT???? Options

Erg I hate my life sometimes, I bought myself a 2000 MR2-Spyder, being that my 6gc got totaled about 5 weeks ago, had it all of 2 days before disaster struck... I got it Sunday night, drove it monday, check engine light... ok no biggie its under warrenty, take it to the dealership(Toyota mind you as well), leave it (mistake 1), and they fix the lower skid plate problems I was having and check the engine, well when they reconnected the battery they hooked the terminals up wrong, and poof there went the entire harness.... So they are spoused to call me today to either tell me 1) that they are gonna total it and get me a new car, or 2) fix it and have it be a 4 week wait.

Im so pissed off first my celica, and now 5 weeks later my MR2.. life sucks.

I was gonna post some pics but it rained both days I had it, and wanted it to be shiney to show it off.. Anyways its a black on black loaded spyder, I think it looks good, but as all girls have put it, "its so cute" erg... Pics mabey folllowing.....

Hooking up battery terminals wrong can't really fry an OEM harness. There are fuses which blow before the harness fries.

Yeah there is something fishy about that. Your harness wouldn't go up in flames from connecting a battery wrong. If that happened every time you connected a battery wrong then the world would have a lot less cars. Sucks to hear though. What are/were your plans for the MR-S?

I did that by mistake a long time ago on my civic, just blew a fues (it was an 88 too) I cant really make sence of a 2000 mr2 being unrotected against that, if thats what there telling you I would call bs on em, and figure out what really happend.

Sux to hear that man, you seemed really happy when you got the mr2, and now its in trubble, life it really getting you hard right now.

Eh I hate see'ing my dead cars. Well I just got back from a little trip down to the toyota dealership, I have no clue what they did wrong, but the terminal confusion is what they are sticking too, I saw my ECU which is black, and my car smells of burnt wiring super nasty. So I dont have really any of idea of what happened just my car is messed up, but good news they are gonna fix it, which Im not sure if thats a good idea considering whats allready happened.

95CelicaST - Daily drivin fun!, I really dont have any kinda Idea yet, the car wasnt cheap, in my head so far is a intake, suspension and see'n what I can do about the sound system its only 2 speakers stock.

creis - It never fails, we'll see what happens, I am still quite happy about the car, just a while till its fixed and my license is gone on thrusday and considering I just sold the Blue86 I dont even have a car to drive on my last week of driving.. sucks... hit me up on AIM

I'm sure that car is fun to drive around. If I had one I would Def. be looking for a hardtop, cause those are hot.

As some beginning mods I would say suspension and the standard Intake, Headers, Exhaust. It has the GT-S-like wheels right?

Baiscly what Mine looks like sep I have 17" Motegi's on mine. This being my first convertable and wanting one I doubt I'll buy the hardtop add on but who knows.

As Far as mods go, no exhuast, but mabey headers.

you just bought the car a little over a month ago, and its in the shop already? mention the lemon law to them. if you keep having problems with the car you just bought, you might have some legal options that go in your favor.

It shouldn't even do that. I don't have the electrical diagrams in front of me(I'm at work,) but I know that the battery is isolated from the car's electrical system by just a couple fuses. There's shouldn't be a way that hooking up the terminals the wrong way would blow every fuse in the car.

lagos - I wrecked my Celica about a month ago I bought this car on the 26th of Febuary.

Coomer - I havent really looked into it alot yet, I am gonna see when my car comes home about what all I can do, Its got a 1 year warrenty.

95CelicaST - Not even a week of owning it I am starting to lean certain directions.

Mike - All convertable, they do offer a hardtop but it makes it look like a bubble to me.
