ive been looking around for a good ipod holder for the car. everything i found was way over priced in the 30-40$ price range, and i couldnt find anything that would work well with our car. i went to my locall dollar store and found a car cell phone holder for 1$. it took a little modification to mount it in, but i think it turned out great!

i also decided to take some pics of the interrior using Defgephs camera mount.

I think Bigfoot is blurry, that's the problem. It's not the photographer's fault. Bigfoot is blurry. And that's extra scary to me, because there's a large, out-of-focus monster roaming the countryside.

I just put the wire in for my Ipod tonight, ran the rca to mini jack cable from my head unit down to below the climate control. Drilled a hole in the back of that little pocket beside the cig. lighter, so that I can store the cable in there.

Now I just need to figure out how I want to mount the ipod...I really don't wanna pay 40.00 for a mount and a charger. I also don't want it up that high...

I dunno, it's gonna take a while to figure out how I want to go about this, but for now I'm happy that it works with my stereo. It is a 6' cable, so pretty much it stretches otu to where either me or the passenger or hell, maybe someone in the back, can pick the tunes. I need to fill up the other 15gb of it though ,so I've got some good choices.

sorry if i'm rambling, i'm drunk.

yeah i thought about that, but you cant see what track is playing or change to another song without having to take it out.

Looks good. smile.gif

What's the red LED for in the second gauge pod on the pillar?

On a sidenote, your garage looks like a cave. tongue.gif

the red led u see is the air to fuel ratio gauge. its not putting on its normal light show because the car was off.

your right about the garage being a cave. notice how close i am to the wall? you can barely open your door a squeeze through to get out..lol

I faced the iPod mounting dilema about 6 months ago and the end product came out awesome. About $15ish bux on eBay and you're rockin away.

I got the dock and cut a piece of sheet metal to fit in the little bracket behind the cradle so that it would slide into the crack between the stereo and edge of the center console (really easy I can post pictures later).

Then i got the Belkin Car Kit because it came with a line out on the non-dock end of the cable so that only one wire would power the iPod and move the audio.

I then just ran a regular RCA to mini from my stereo to the end of the Belkin adaptor. The fun part was adding another cigarette jack behind the current one so that I could free up the external one for my cellphone or w/e and so that all of the cables would stay beind the stereo and climate control. i ran the dock connector to the iPod out in the 3-way crack between the stereo, th climate control panel and the edge of the console and left about 2-3" of play.

It turned out awesome in the end. I'll post pix later when I can get my digi out of my buddy's car.

post some pics up soon. id like to compare our setups. the car holder you have looks basically like the one i bought. a cheap vent cell phone holder.

i like that belkin charger. ive been looking around for something that gives it power and sends audio through one cable, but dint think anything like that existed. all the ones i found had an FM tuner.

Something cool would be taking out the change thing and having a cover that flips 360degrees with the ipod attached to it.

I'd considered something to that effect, but didn't really have the tools/the will power to go through with it....
